Manager, Institutional Client Reporting

Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Are you interested in joining one of Canada’s top performing asset managers? We are looking for a Manager, Institutional Client Reporting, for an existing vacancy in our Institutional Client Reporting team. In this leadership role, you will oversee our Institutional Client Reporting function - leading a high-performing team responsible for the accurate setup, governance, production, review, sign-off, and distribution of institutional client reports. You will provide reporting operations expertise and development leadership in support of CC&LFG’s institutional investment affiliates, working closely with stakeholders across the organization, including frequent collaboration with affiliates’ Client Relationship Managers. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong operational judgment and a deep understanding of client reporting processes and systems. While you will set direction and drive improvements, you will also be expected to maintain strong functional expertise to periodically support and back up team members to ensure continuity, quality, and timely delivery. Our offices currently operate on a hybrid model with a combination of in office and remote working days throughout the week.

What You Will Do
  • Oversee both the Operations and Development functions within Institutional Client Reporting, balancing day-to-day delivery with the continuous evolution of reporting systems, tools, and processes.
  • Lead and oversee the end‑to‑end client reporting functions, establishing quality controls and performance standards to ensure accurate, timely, and high‑quality delivery of complex institutional reports.
  • Act as a reporting authority and escalation point, partnering with Client Relationship Managers and cross‑functional stakeholders to resolve complex issues, manage risk, and support client outcomes.
  • Provide oversight for the setup, governance, and ongoing management of institutional client accounts, data integrity, and reporting deliverables, ensuring alignment with organizational standards and client expectations.
  • Support the strategic direction for report design and innovation, guiding the development and enhancement of reporting solutions through automation, advanced logic, and effective use of proprietary and third‑party tools.
  • Translate business strategy into reporting capabilities, working closely with development and technology teams to prioritize initiatives, define requirements, and ensure scalable, sustainable technical solutions.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives across reporting processes, proactively identifying opportunities to enhance efficiency, strengthen controls, reduce operational risk, and align with industry best practices.
  • Own people-management responsibilities, including recruitment involvement, onboarding and training, goal setting, formal performance reviews, and ongoing professional development of team members, and act as the primary escalation point for complex reporting, technical, and process-related matters.
  • Lead reporting initiatives and projects, ensuring business needs are clearly defined, solutions are delivered effectively, and outcomes support broader organizational objectives.
What You Bring
  • You offer a relevant undergraduate degree and 5+ years of relevant experience in a comparable role or with transferable skills, preferably in financial services or investment management, complemented by experience building, leading, and sustaining high‑performing teams
  • You foster a culture of innovation by encouraging your team to challenge existing practices, explore new technologies, and continuously evolve reporting solutions in support of long‑term business and client objectives
  • You lead through influence and partnership, building strong relationships across functions, aligning stakeholders around shared goals, and promoting a one‑team mindset that supports collective success
  • You provide structure and clarity in a dynamic environment, effectively prioritizing work, balancing competing demands, and enabling your team to deliver consistently while adapting to changing business needs
  • You approach challenges with a strategic perspective, guiding your team to assess risks, evaluate trade‑offs, and implement scalable solutions that support sustainable outcomes
  • You communicate with clarity and purpose, setting expectations, providing constructive feedback, and ensuring alignment across teams and leadership. You navigate complex conversations with professionalism, confidence, and empathy
  • You bring a strong understanding of reporting technologies and tools, enabling informed decision‑making, guiding technical direction, and supporting your team in leveraging systems effectively. Understanding of Microsoft’s Power Platform (Power BI, Power Automate, Power Apps, Fabric) and familiarity with SimCorp’s Coric Client Communication solution is an asset
  • You draw on your industry experience to provide sound judgment, contextual guidance, and coaching, helping your team navigate complex institutional reporting requirements with confidence
  • You champion a client‑first mindset across the team, ensuring client needs are anticipated, service standards are upheld, and interactions reflect professionalism, trust, and accountability
