
Compute & Storage Domain Architect
Interested in joining one of Canada’s top performing asset managers? We are looking for a Compute & Storage Domain Architect to join our Infrastructure & Cloud Engineering team. This role owns the strategic direction, architecture, and evolution of the Compute & Storage platform domain. This includes compute infrastructure, virtualization, enterprise storage, workload hosting, resiliency, and recovery capabilities across on-premises and hybrid environments. This is a senior technical leadership role for an experienced architect who can balance long-term platform strategy with practical execution. You will define platform standards, drive architecture decisions, influence technology investments, and ensure the platform evolves in line with business needs, operational requirements, and industry best practices. Our offices currently operate on a hybrid model with a combination of in-office and remote working days throughout the week.
What You Will Do
- Own the architecture, strategy, and roadmap for the Compute & Storage platform domain
- Define target-state architectures, platform standards, and technology guardrails
- Make and govern key technology decisions relating to workload hosting, virtualization, storage, resiliency, and recovery
- Establish standardized platform patterns that improve scalability, reliability, security, and operational efficiency
- Evaluate emerging technologies and drive platform modernization initiatives
- Partner with business, application, security, and infrastructure teams to align platform capabilities with business objectives
- Provide architectural leadership across major initiatives and ensure alignment with enterprise standards
- Guide engineering teams and SMEs through design reviews, technical direction, and architectural governance
- Own platform lifecycle planning, capacity strategy, technical debt reduction, and long-term sustainability
What You Bring
- 10+ years of experience designing and operating enterprise-scale infrastructure platforms
- Significant experience in infrastructure architecture, platform strategy, or technical leadership roles
- Strong expertise across compute, virtualization, storage, resiliency, and hybrid infrastructure environments
- Experience defining reference architectures, standards, roadmaps, and platform governance models
- Strong understanding of workload placement strategies, platform lifecycle management, and infrastructure modernization
- Ability to balance architecture vision with operational realities and business priorities
- Proven ability to influence technical direction across multiple teams and disciplines
- Strong communication skills with the ability to engage engineers, architects, senior leadership, vendors, and business stakeholders
- Platform-owner mindset with a focus on long-term outcomes, simplification, standardization, and business value
The expected salary for this position is $130,000 - 140,000 CAD. The salary range provided reflects the base salary range for this position as required by legislation. In addition, there is an annual performance bonus which contributes to the total compensation for this position. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process.
