Senior Business Analyst

Interested in joining one of Canada’s top performing asset managers?  We are looking for an experienced Senior Business Analyst for an existing vacancy on our Enterprise Projects Team. You will play a key role in business transformation by being part of large-scale strategic initiatives across the organization. In this role you will join a highly skilled group of project professionals working across the organization. Our offices currently operate on a hybrid model with a combination of in-office and remote working days throughout the week.

What You Will Do

  • Support project readiness activities including business process and workflow analysis, impact assessments, and eliciting requirements from multiple business lines to support business challenges and opportunities.
  • Develop requirements specifications for high-level business, functional and acceptance criteria, produce high-level and detailed business models, and participate in both agile/waterfall development cycles oversee the develop considering all implications to systems.
  • Assist in leading assessments to accurately understand current and future state, assess risks and communicate to all levels consistently.
  • Facilitate workshops for requirements of development and clarification.
  • Critically assess requirements, decisions, and risks throughout the project
  • Develop testing strategies using clear testing needs and acceptance criteria.
  • Report in an organized fashion on status, project metrics, testing metrics
  • Liaise and coordinate with the various project streams under the program and associated stakeholders to ensure alignment.
  • At times where there is no assigned project manager, you will be required to assume some project management role including the creation of project plans, managing resources, managing communication, and monitoring project performance.
  • Guide the ongoing business analysis approaches and appropriate governance to ensure that business goals are achieved through various program streams.
  • Provide support to operational staff on the project through coaching guiding and modeling key behaviors/strategies; encourage dialogue and provide guidance and advice to facilitate resolutions to work issues.
  • Help build business analysis skills throughout the organization through ongoing coaching and mentoring on best practices and frameworks.

What You Bring

  • 8+ years’ experience in business analysis, financial services industry experience is an asset.
  • Experience supporting large-scale business and technology transformation projects from initial concept through to implementation and skilled at providing leadership and guidance to project stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience with building Analysis/models to help with project decision making
  • Preferably familiar with leading financial industry software Salesforce, Arcesium , SS&C, Simcorp, Eagle Accounting.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the business analysis frameworks and project management life cycle
  • Possess a disciplined and consistent approach to business analysis, getting the “small things” right while keeping the bigger picture in view
  • Known for building successful relationships at all levels; lead stakeholders through challenging times and is seen as a trusted facilitator for addressing conflict
  • Passion for business analysis and a demonstrated knowledge of industry best practices
  • You are a critical thinker with the ability to synthesize information from multiple sources and summarize effectively
  • You have a disciplined approach to problem solving and know how to lead a group through difficult decisions
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation skills and senior level business documentation/writing skills within all projects.
  • Excellent proficiency in process mapping tool.  Experience with Engage Process mapping tool is an asset.
  • Certified Business Analysis Professional (CBAP®) or Certification of Competency in Business Analysis (CCBA®) designation is an asset.

The starting salary for this position is $100,000-$120,000. The starting salary provided reflects the base salary for this position as required by legislation. In addition, there is an annual performance bonus which contributes to the total compensation of this position. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process.
