Manager, Performance and Attribution

Interested in joining one of Canada’s top performing asset managers?  We are looking for an experienced Manager for an existing vacancy on our Performance Attribution Solutions (PAS) team, with members across Vancouver, Toronto, and Gurugram. The PAS Team’s purpose is to provide performance, attribution, investment analytics data and insights to our internal and external stakeholders, including working directly with Affiliate investment teams and portfolio managers.  The ideal candidate is a proven leader who brings an ownership mindset, is self-motivated, and drives results from start to finish.  You will be responsible for embedding operational best practices identifying automation opportunities, and ensuring effective oversight of the distribution of investment analytics. Your key stakeholders include multiple Affiliate investment teams - portfolio managers, traders, economists and researchers – as well as sales / marketing, client service, compliance, investment operations, and technology partners across the Financial Group.  Our offices currently operate on a hybrid model with a combination of in-office and remote working days throughout the week. 

What You Will Do 

  • Cultivate an environment centered on innovation, a deep sense of ownership, and a drive to achieve results. A leader with a track record of developing talent and high performing teams is preferred. 
  • Support talent development across the team, including the onboarding of new members and providing training to existing team members 
  • Manage daily functional activities, developing reliable and scalable workflows, and proactively reducing operational risk. 
  • Provide leadership and direction to team members, manage project timelines, unblock technical and structural hurdles, and ensure deliverables meet high-quality standards. 
  • Partner closely with Senior Managers and Affiliates to execute strategic objectives of the team and deliver ad hoc projects in response to business needs. 
  • Serve as the primary analytics liaison between investment, operations, and sales / marketing teams, ensuring we own the outcomes needed to fulfill our affiliates’ business needs.  
  • Proactively identify, design, and execute continuous improvements to enhance operational efficiency, mitigate operational risk, and elevate service delivery quality across the team. 
  • Manage key relationships across teams, ensuring priorities are aligned and teams collaborate effectively.  
  • Responsible for implementing data quality assurance processes and tools to ensure analytic data is accurate, timely, and fit for purpose by data consumers (people & systems). 
  • Accountable for the implementation and rollout of the new platform and various tools. 
  • Drive the design and deployment of institutional and quant-grade distribution and visualization tools, enabling stakeholders to extract optimal value from complex datasets.

What You Bring

  • Minimum of 8 years of professional experience with investment analytics, preferably within the investment management industry. 
  • A deep understanding of performance and attribution methodologies and how to apply them to complex global investment products and structures.   
  • Degree in Finance, Mathematics, Business, or a related discipline.  Professional designations such as the CFA or CIPM are strongly preferred. 
  • Minimum of 3 years of direct leadership experience in performance, analytics, or investment operations teams. Experience with geographically distributed teams is an asset. 
  • An analytical thinker with a demonstrated capacity for pattern recognition, capable of engineering creative, structured solutions to business problems. 
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills, with a proven ability to distill complex technical and quantitative analytics concepts into clear, actionable insights for non-technical stakeholders. 
  • A professional ethos dedicated to continuous process improvement, consistently evaluating operational workflows with a critical eye toward de-risking and optimization. 

The starting salary for this position is $120,000-$180,000. The starting salary provided reflects the base salary for this position as required by legislation. In addition, there is an annual performance bonus which contributes to the total compensation of this position. Further questions may be directed to the HR team during the interview process.
