Senior Database and Reporting Specialist

Position Summary: 

CCOF is expanding its Information Technology team! We are looking for a Senior Database and Reporting Specialist who will serve as the first point of contact for our IT SQL reporting needs. In this role, you’ll help ensure Crystal Reports and Intact-derived reports function optimally across the organization, while also supporting the continued development of the Salesforce platform.

Working closely with the DevOps Manager, this role helps maintain reliable data workflows, ensures accurate technical documentation, and contributes to ongoing improvements across reporting and database processes.

This is a full-time, salary non-exempt position that reports to the DevOps Manager. This is a United States-based remote position, operating on a Pacific Time Zone work schedule.

Essential Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the first responder on Crystal Reports tickets within the IT ticketing system
  • Develop and document Crystal Reports
  • Co-develop and document SQL stored procedures
  • Support co-development and documentation of Salesforce features

Specific duties

  • Triage Crystal Reports tickets within the IT Helpdesk System, including clarifying scope, validating issue details, determining priority, and communicating with end users to gather additional information as needed.
  • Take full ownership of assigned tickets and ensure issues are tracked, escalated when appropriate, and resolved successfully within expected service timelines.
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of Crystal Reports including formatting documents, creating new reports based on the organization requirements, updating existing reports as needed, and proofreading and annotating inherited formulas.
  • Ensure all Crystal Reports work is documented clearly to support version control, knowledge transfer, and long-term usability.
  • Collaborate with the DevOps Manager to draft and update SQL stored procedures, supporting data workflows and reporting needs. Assist in refining logic, troubleshooting errors, and optimizing performance.
  • Implement annotation of SQL stored procedures referenced by Crystal Reports and Intact and as needed for database reporting.
  • Support Salesforce development in partnership with the DevOps Manager, contributing to feature development, testing, and documentation. Assist with foundational Salesforce administration tasks such as field updates, formula creation, report adjustments, and data validation.
  • Ensure that all new or updated Salesforce features include clear functional and technical documentation.

Required Qualifications:

  • 4+ years of related experience

Knowledge & Technical Skills

  • Foundational SQL knowledge and demonstrated experience. Working understanding of SQL concepts, including querying, joins, data filtering, and basic troubleshooting. Ability to read, interpret, and collaboratively develop SQL stored procedures. Familiarity with optimizing queries and documenting logic to support maintainability and efficient data workflows.
  • Experience with Coding and Formatting in Crystal Reports. Proficiency in creating and modifying Crystal Reports, including writing and editing report formulas, applying data formatting, structuring report layouts, and integrating data sources. Ability to troubleshoot report errors, validate report accuracy, and maintain clear documentation of report logic, parameters, and version history.
  • Exposure to Salesforce administration. Basic experience working within Salesforce, including updating fields, building or editing formulas, assisting with report and dashboard adjustments, and testing new features. Understanding of Salesforce data structures, workflow concepts, and the importance of accurate documentation to support system integrity and cross-team collaboration.

Experience planning, coordinating, executing and finishing complex projects. Ability to delegate and prioritize tasks, manage resources, analyze problems, report progress, and evaluate project performance to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Critical Thinking and Problem-Solving skills. Proactively leads process improvements. Independently navigates unfamiliar situations, leveraging available resources to overcome challenges, and identify effective solutions. Demonstrates self-awareness by recognizing when support is needed and appropriately seeking guidance or resources.
  • Proficiency in computer skills including Microsoft Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel, and database programs. Effectively manages emails, creates professional documents, spreadsheets, and maintains accurate database records.

Desired Qualifications:

  • Completion of a recognized SQL certification (e.g., Microsoft SQL, Oracle SQL, or IBM SQL certification) is preferred but not required.
  • Experience working remotely with in-office and remote teams.
  • Proficiency with code versioning practices to ensure best change-management practices.

Supervisory Responsibilities or Key Relationships:

  • This role does not have any supervisory responsibilities.

Physical and Travel Requirements:

  • Regular 8‑hour workday scheduled within the Pacific Time Zone.
  • Prolonged periods sitting or standing at a desk and working on a computer

Compensation: CCOF takes pride in offering competitive pay and benefits such as superb health plans, 401(k) program, and generous sick/personal and vacation time. The Senior Database and Reporting Specialist’s starting salary range will be $80,000 – $90,000 and will depend on qualifications and experience.
