VP, Product Management

Overview: The AVP, Product will provide leadership in the development and execution of business strategy and management of the company’s product portfolio. Owning inputs into financial forecasts and results, the role will transform business and market strategies into solutions for problems that are urgent, pervasive and that the market will pay to solve. This position will lead market research and infuse thought leadership across business units and cross-functional teams throughout product development, launch, and ongoing service provision.

In addition to the performance of such other services assigned or delegated by the Company, the AVP, Product will communicate to key stakeholders, including the Executive Leadership Team, and will engage with customers and business partners to understand new market needs, as well as define and document roadmaps for execution and sales. This position will demonstrate technical expertise, as well as product management discipline, to bring cutting-edge solutions and assets to market, resulting in delighted customers and sustained growth.

Duties and Responsibilities:

1) Develop and maintain an expert level of knowledge regarding products, services, capabilities, infrastructure, and operations of Employer and its affiliates, the marketplace, competition, strategic positioning, threats, and direction to achieve optimal insight and success with respect to Employer’s (and those of its affiliates) products, services, capabilities, support, functionality requirements, and financial performance.

2) Lead, drive, and ultimately be responsible for planning, implementation, execution, and successful development and execution of business strategy and management of the Company’s product portfolio, to include:

a) For commercially facing solutions/services, design a strategic, multi-year business plan and blueprint to meet the overall product goals around key metrics (e.g., revenue, EBIDTA) – maintain a regular review/update cadence (no less than quarterly) and, ultimately, own revenue attainment.

b) Engage with customers, internal stakeholders, and business partners to gather feedback and options for regular improvements, while understanding the Company’s distinctive competencies.

c) Serve as external/commercial face of solutions/services.

d) Ensure that product management teams maintain a published roadmap outlining ideas, value, and timing of those to market, as well as the fit within the product portfolio.

e) Provide guidance and direction within the product portfolio, provide subject matter knowledge to product design

and development initiatives.

f) Design and/or partner on solutions and services – driving early-stage technologies, supporting design-led research, reviewing prototype development, and finalizing fit into the product portfolio. Additionally, identify and evaluate potential third-party partnerships on an ongoing basis.

g) Lead design and strategy that define the value proposition and benefits for current and future products.

h) Own pricing and distribution strategy and definition.

i) Define key business objectives on a quarterly and annual basis for the Engineering team to design, develop, test, and operate towards – supporting Engineering in development of requirements and use scenarios, partnering with Engineering to determine optimal technical implementation and delivery sequence, and helping Engineering prioritize and make trade-off decisions during development.

j) Own contract terms and templates and ensure solution/service compliance, including data policies, during definition and early-stage phases.

k) Support Solutions Marketing relative to positioning, messaging, and launch of solutions/services.

l) Support Operations and Customer Support relative to execution.

m) Support Sales and Customer Success, on opportunity development and closure – when high complexity and need for subject matter expertise are present.

n) Maintain and explore product knowledge opportunities to expand advisory services and syndicated offerings related to policy and strategy by deepening the understanding of policy throughout ComplexCare Solutions, creating future policy directions and related engagement opportunities; and keep abreast of industry trends.

3) Maintain compliance with ComplexCare Solution's policies, procedures and mission statement.

4) Adhere to all confidentiality and HIPAA requirements as outlined within ComplexCare Solution's Operating Policies and Procedures in all ways and at all times with respect to any aspect of the data handled or services rendered in the undertaking of the position.

5) Fulfill those responsibilities and/or duties that may be reasonably provided by ComplexCare Solutions for the purpose of achieving operational and financial success of Employer.

Job Requirements:

· Minimum twelve (12) years of experience with demonstrable accomplishments in strategic product management, business strategy, financial/business modeling and analysis, business plan development, market/industry research, and competitive analysis.

· Minimum seven (7) years of management responsibility.

· Proven track record in building new products and introducing them to market.

· Ability to manage costs and expenses within a budget as well as ensure projects as assigned are managed to budget, scope, and timeline.

· Demonstrated experience with customer feedback tools and quantitative analysis.

· Ability to attract, develop, and retain high-performing talent and expertise.

· Excellent written and oral presentation skills.

· Mastery of Microsoft Office tools, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint preferred.

· Great organizational skills and ‘get things done’ attitude.

Education:

· Bachelor’s degree in related field required; Master’s, MS, or PhD degree in related fields highly desired.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

· Sedentary work (i.e. sitting for long periods of time).

· Exerting up to 10 pounds of force occasionally and/or negligible amount of force.

· Frequently or constantly to lift, carry push, pull or otherwise move objects and repetitive motions.

· Subject to inside environmental conditions.

· Travel for this position may be seasonal for specific product lines which may lead to concentrations of travel during specific periods of the year, but generally should not exceed 25% on an annual basis.

 

The actual base pay offered may vary depending on multiple factors including, but not limited to, job-related knowledge/skills, experience, business needs, geographical location, and internal equity.  At Inovalon, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top end of the range for their role, and compensation decisions are dependent upon the facts and circumstances of each position and candidate.

Base Compensation Range

$200,000 - $260,000 USD
