The Senior Research Associate will be responsible for conducting lab based experimental work towards the development of products for the Cellanome instrument. This role will report to the Director of Biomaterials.
Essential Duties include but are not limited to the following:
- Conducting laboratory experiments such as running molecular biology assays (e.g. PCR, sequencing library preparation, etc.) and cell biology assays (e.g. protein expression, immunostaining, etc.).
- Culturing and characterizing live cells.
- Evaluating cell-material interactions, and biocompatibility of materials.
- Troubleshooting issues related to Cellanome’s assays.
- Documenting and analyzing experimental data accurately and thoroughly and communicating results within and across teams.
- Following laboratory safety protocols and maintaining a clean and organized work environment.
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs for approximately 15% of typical working day.
- Ability to grasp with both hands; pinch with thumb and forefinger; turn with hand/arm; reach above shoulder height.
- Ability to comply with personal protective equipment requirements.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in molecular biology, cell biology, bioengineering, or related scientific discipline.
- Minimum 2 years of hands-on experience in running molecular biology or cell biology assays.
- Creativity, initiative, and strong problem-solving abilities.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow experimental protocols precisely.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the Essential Duties of the position with or without reasonable accommodations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in cell culture or fluorescent microscopy.
- Experience in working with biomaterials.
The estimated base salary range for this position is $84,000 - $125,000/year. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
