The role...
The Epigenetics Applications Group at Cell Signaling Technology is dedicated to testing and validating antibody materials across all development stages using epigenetic assays. We are currently seeking a highly motivated Research Associate to join our team focused on developing innovative epigenetics-based assays and antibodies. This role will focus primarily on the validation of antibodies for chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) and ChIP-Seq applications. Key laboratory techniques required for this role include mammalian cell culture, cell lysis and chromatin preparation, chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP), DNA purification, quantitative PCR (qPCR), and next-generation sequencing (NGS) DNA library preparation The ideal candidate must have the ability to design moderately complex experiments with appropriate controls, and is expected to independently analyze, interpret, and report experimental results.
You'll have the opportunity to...
- Collaborate with Senior Project Scientists and fellow Research Associates to manage a fast-paced workflow, completing scientific tasks on tight timelines in support of both internal and external stakeholders
- Independently evaluate antibody and reagent performance in chromatin immunoprecipitation (ChIP) assays, utilizing techniques such as cell culture, lysate preparation, ChIP, DNA purification, qPCR, and next-generation sequencing (NGS) DNA library preparation
- Analyze experimental data independently and communicate findings to senior scientists through presentations and written reports
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues related to antibody and reagent performance in ChIP assays
- Support the commercial team by reviewing datasheets and scientific literature, and contributing to the creation of scientific content for webinars, marketing materials, and technical documentation
- Provide direct technical support to internal and external customers via email, including troubleshooting ChIP assay results and advising on experimental design
Who you are and what you bring to the team...
- BA, BS, or MS degree in a Biological Science (e.g. Molecular Biology, Cell Biology, Biochemistry or Biotechnology)
- Minimum of 2 years of post-graduate, hands-on laboratory experience in a relevant field
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to high-quality work
- Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to excel in a collaborative team environment
Ideally, you have...
- Hands-on experience with cell culture, qPCR and immunoprecipitation
- Experience with ChIP assay is a plus
- Strong organizational skills
- Ability to work independently with a collaborative mindset
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
- Proficient in Microsoft Office and Google Suite
- Familiarity with bioinformatics tools is a plus
Physical Conditions/Physical Requirements...
- Work at the lab bench
- Must be able to sit/stand throughout the day and have a working station with a computer
- Work area may have noise from equipment (refrigerator, freezer, etc.) Lift 25 pounds for lab trash care.
