The role...

As an integral member of the APAC Sales Team, the Field Applications Specialist (FAS) is primarily responsible for co- assisting the Senior Account Manager(s) for India and/or Distributor Managers  in the region by providing technical and product support during the sales process. The  FAS is also responsible for maintaining strong domain expertise and developing in-depth technical knowledge of Cell Signaling Technology Products and Applications.

The successful FAS will also work closely with Regional Marketing, Product Development scientists and Product Marketing Managers defining value propositions and conducting bench work experiments to support the development of critical applications, creating relevant experiment data for use in a broad range of marketing collaterals including web, posters, white papers, product brochures and flyers. This role is also responsible to help with APAC territory budgetary goals, with a primary focus on India,  through sales success across key product areas. The ability to support additional regions within the APAC region through travel and/or remote support is also an important aspect of the role.

You'll have the opportunity to...

Technical Application Support & Customer Engagement
  • Primarily to provide pre-sales application and portfolio support during the sales process to increase awareness, adoption, and revenue at key accounts, including follow-up in-field support for the Senior Account Manager(s) for India and/or Distributor Managers  in the region.
  • Deliver high-quality pre- and post-sales technical support to end-users, distributors, subdealers and other partners across India.
  • Act as a regional and scientific expert (Subject Matter Expert), differentiating and positioning CST products based on technical, scientific, and competitive advantages.
  • Engage in customer collaborations, joint research, or OEM opportunities, providing consultative guidance on experimental design and workflow optimization.
  • Have the capability to conduct lab-based experiments and generate data to support application notes, product launches, marketing materials, and technical documentation.
Scientific Communication & Thought Leadership
  • Organize and deliver technical presentations, webinars, seminars, and product demos to labs, user groups, and local client meetings to drive product adoption and awareness.
  • Represent CST at scientific conferences, trade shows, and customer visits, building relationships with key researchers and opinion leaders.
  • Partner with the Global Trainer to develop and deliver internal training/workshops for APAC team and distributors (where required).
  • Translate complex scientific concepts into actionable insights for customers, internal teams, and stakeholders.
Cross-Functional Collaboration & Strategic Initiatives
  • Collaborate closely with Product Management, R&D, Marketing, and Sales to provide Voice of Customer feedback, support new product development, and identify potential application areas.
  • Support strategic initiatives such as product launches, Early Access Programs, and Scientist-to-Scientist outreach tailored to local market dynamics.
  • Partner with Sales and Analytics teams to identify and close revenue gaps, optimize account penetration, and provide technical expertise during customer engagements.
Market Intelligence & Application Expertise
  • Monitor and report on customer needs, market trends, competitive activity, and emerging scientific applications.
  • Serve as a technical advisor internally, helping teams understand application trends and positioning products strategically.
  • Identify opportunities for new applications or workflow improvements, and suggest product enhancements based on customer insights. 
  • Providing input for portfolio prioritization and regional commercial strategy.
Administrative & Documentation
  • Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, technical support activities, experiments, application data, and follow-up actions.
  • Ensure compliance with internal processes, regulatory requirements, and data integrity standards.
  • Contribute to technical reports, knowledge-sharing documents, and SOPs for internal and external audiences.

Who you are and what you bring to the team...

  • Ph.D. in Life Sciences or related specialty such as biotechnology.
  • Office Based in Bangalore Area.
  • 5+  years FAS, or Sales Support experience in the Life Sciences industry
  • 5+ years of research experience in Cell Biology, Immunology, Cancer Biology, and/ or Neuroscience fields.
  • Previous laboratory experience working with antibody applications, preferably Immunohistochemistry (IHC), Flow Cytometry, Immunofluorescence (IF) or High Content Imaging.
  • Previous experience and knowledge of GMP and customer segments is highly desired.
  • A good understanding of drug discovery and/or diagnostic workflows and the technologies employed
  • Excellent oral and written communication and presentation skills in and English Languages
  • Ability to establish good relationships and credibility with cross-functional partners and customers
  • Ability to manage high volume of communications (email, phone, and in person)

Ideally, you have...

  • PhD in Life Sciences or related specialty such as biotechnology.
  • Working knowledge of IHC and High Content applications including confocal and fluorescent microscopy instrumentation.
  • GMP experience and knowledge together with related customer segments.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, manage multiple deliverables and deadlines
  • Ability to prioritize responsibilities.
  • Must have strong time management skills Ability to work in a complex sales environment.

Physical Conditions/Physical Requirements...

  • Work environment is typically quiet for independent desk work and virtual meetings.
  • The ability to perform repetitive motions with the wrists, hands, and fingers.
  • The ability to extend hands and arms in any direction to access materials, equipment, or a keyboard.
  • The ability to sit for long periods of time (often more than 70% of the workday).
  • Ability to view and read information from a computer monitor, reports, and documents.
  • Physically able to safely lift and carry 25 pounds to move, install, unpack PC equipment, office supplies, etc. as required.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally for meetings, client visits, and company training (approx. 40%+).
