Software Engineer - Process Query Language

The Team:

You will be part of a team that owns the design and implementation of our proprietary Process Query Language (PQL). We are continuously extending PQL with powerful OLAP and graph based capabilities that help our customers in analyzing complex data models, representing process digital twins of some of the world's largest enterprises. 

The Role:

For the Process Query Language squad of our Process Query Engine team, we are looking for a Software Engineer with the skills to build a market leading query language for process data models. As part of a talented engineering team, you will take ownership for the evolution of PQL to enable our customer in analyzing increasingly complex data models, take ownership for reliability and performance of customer-facing functionalities and ensure a best-in-class user experience.

The work you’ll do:

• Design and implementation of new OLAP and graph based features for our query language
• Optimize the performance and robustness of language features
• Contribute to our roadmap and drive the evolution of PQL
• Communicate and coordinate with stakeholders and customers
• Take responsibility for functional and non-functional requirements
• Support and contribute to our development and maintenance processes

The qualifications you need:

• University degree in computer science or comparable education
• A user-centric and analytical mindset
• Experience with writing scalable, reliable, and testable software
• Experience or interest in query language design for relational and graph based data structures
• Experience in system programming, ideally Java or modern C++
• Solid knowledge of data structures and algorithms
• Understanding database systems and query concepts
• Understanding of compiler architectures is a plus
• Excellent communication skills in English, German is a plus
