The Team:

You will join our Finance Operations team within the larger Finance organization. We are a crucial part of the business, ensuring our quote-to-order process is smooth and efficient, and that our financial reporting is accurate. You will also get to collaborate with cross-functional teams like Go-to-Market, Pricing, and Legal to integrate business needs and continuously improve our processes for better operational efficiency.

The Role:

As a Intern Finance Operations you are the gatekeeper between Sales and Finance and make sure that all deals show up correctly in Celonis’ Finance Reporting and can be timely licensed to our customers. You manage the review, validation and approval of all incoming, often complex contracts, calculate the related KPIs and track various metadata. You are the go-to person for internal stakeholders when it comes to complex booking scenarios, reporting based on subscription data and questions regarding the end-to-end booking process.

The work you’ll do:

• Manage the validation and approval of all incoming deals from a financial perspective which includes the calculation of KPIs as well as data structuring for a correct booking
• Control and oversee subscription management to guarantee a 100% accurate finance reporting based on the Celonis reporting guidelines  
• Review booking data for month end closing, Billing/RevRec requirements and other financial reportings
• Provide advice to internal stakeholders on complex booking scenarios as well as data evaluation and analyses
• Monitor and steer renewal management 
• Continuously improve finance-related after-sales processes and come up with ideas on process automation 
• Build smart reportings to cross check data correctness and help using Celonis Process Intelligence Platform to leverage the data

The qualifications you need:

• Completed Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field (B.A. or B.Sc. in business administration, economics, finance, or a comparable degree program)
• First hands-on experience in a related field, ideally within a software company is a plus
• Strong analytical and independent thinker with the ability to quickly understand complex processes while keeping the bigger picture in mind
• Confident, assertive, and collaborative, with a strong attention to detail and a zero-error mindset
• Ideally, first experiences with Salesforce and Zuora (as a plus) and solid knowledge of Microsoft Excel
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English
