Lead Value Engineer - Financial Services

New York, US, New York

Celonis is the global leader in Process Intelligence and the pioneer of Process Mining technology. As one of the world’s fastest-growing enterprise SaaS companies, we are changemakers pushing the boundaries of what’s possible. We invest heavily in advanced AI capabilities—specifically our Process Intelligence Graph—to turn data insights into immediate business action. We believe there is a massive opportunity to unlock global productivity and sustainability by placing intelligence at the core of every business process. Join our mission to make processes work for people, companies, and the planet.

The Opportunity

Are you a transformation leader ready to architect the future of Financial Services?

We are looking for a Lead Value Engineer to serve as the chief architect for critical SaaS and AI adoption workstreams across top-tier banking and insurance accounts. This is not a standard process optimization role. You will act as a trusted advisor to C-suite executives (COO, CCO, CRO, CFO), blending deep operational DNA with strategic transformation expertise and an AI-first mindset. Your mission is to design Target Operating Models (TOM), translate abstract client needs into actionable Go-To-Market (GTM) strategies, and deliver multi-year technical roadmaps that drive massive financial impact.

The Impact You Will Drive

  • Identify & Architect Value: Translate executive priorities into AI-driven use cases and establish robust Value Realization Frameworks.
  • Build Solution Blueprints: Transform complex business bottlenecks into scalable, end-to-end architectural frameworks and data flows, executing them from concept to reality.
  • Quantify Impact: Construct data-backed business cases highlighting quantifiable financial wins, targeting $10M+ in cost savings.
  • Win the Room & Innovate: Deliver compelling value narratives directly to C-level stakeholders, acting as an industry thought leader to generate massive opportunity pipelines.
  • Orchestrate & Realize Change: Act as a Master Black Belt for clients by embedding compliance, mapping bottlenecks, and automating end-to-end workflows.
  • Drive Executive Workshops: Facilitate high-stakes capability-scoring, GTM foundation building, and industry benchmarking sessions with enterprise leadership.
  • Manage the Journey: Own the end-to-end customer value journey through technical discovery, solution design, pilots, and Quarterly Business Reviews.

How You Will Scale & Innovate

  • Design AI Roadmaps: Build comprehensive generative AI and automation roadmaps focused on complex, multi-agent end-to-end orchestration, moving far beyond simple task-bots.
  • Codify Success: Create standardized blueprint templates empowering enterprise teams to rapidly assess and replicate automation opportunities.
  • Shape the Product: Bridge the gap between customers and Product teams by sharing hands-on, production-level insights from AI agent development and API integrations.

Who You Are: The Ideal Backgrounds

You are a strategic leader with 8–12+ years of experience navigating unstructured enterprise problems. Successful candidates typically hail from one of the following backgrounds:

  • Enterprise SaaS Value Engineering: You have acted as a Strategic Solutions Consultant or Enterprise Architect at a top-tier software company, linking complex technical capabilities directly to executive financial outcomes.
  • FSI Strategy & Transformation: You sit within Corporate Strategy or Internal Consulting at a major bank or insurance firm, translating corporate goals into operational reality.
  • Management & Tech Consulting: You have a portfolio of quantified business cases in Operational Excellence or Digital Transformation from MBB, Big 4, or leading tech consultancies.
  • Lean Six Sigma / Master Black Belt: You have a deep understanding of process DNA, having led Process Re-engineering or Global Capability Centers (GCCs) at global banks.
  • Automation & AI Strategist: You have proven experience designing AI enablement strategies, sitting directly at the intersection of data, applied engineering, and FSI business units.

The Non-Negotiables

  • Hard Skills: Proficiency in SQL and Python; deep familiarity with complex ERP ecosystems like SAP, Oracle, or Sage Intacct, and BI Tools (Tableau, PowerBI).
  • Applied AI Expertise: Platform-agnostic experience in applied AI, including working knowledge of LLMs, Agent Orchestration, Tool Use, Function Calling, RAG, and Structured Outputs.
  • Methodologies: Ability to design executive workshop logic that builds from a foundation of SaaS GTM strategy directly into advanced Process Mining (RPA/BPM implementation experience are acceptable proxies).
  • Blueprinting: Proven ability to create sophisticated enterprise architecture diagrams and translate abstract business strategy into strict, actionable technical requirements.
  • Banking Domain: Granular knowledge of Risk & Compliance (KYC, AML), High-Value Payments, Settlements, or Lending Operations.
  • Insurance Domain: Deep understanding of Claims (FNOL, Adjudication) or Underwriting (Quote-to-Bind, Policy Servicing).
  • Education: B.S. or M.S. in Finance, Business, Computer Science, or Industrial Engineering. (LSS Black Belt, ML, or Data Analytics certifications are a major plus).

Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
