Position Summary

The Vice President (VP) of Clinical Development and Mentorship will lead the strategic vision and execution of a comprehensive career pathway for clinical staff at Centria. This role is pivotal in developing and implementing a structured, scalable framework that supports the professional growth of Clinicians from Behavior Technician to Area Director of Clinical Services. The VP will collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure clinical excellence, leadership development, and long-term retention by fostering an environment where team members are supported in their professional journeys and key milestones of development are met so team members can be deployed where they are needed to maintain high levels of client care.

Success measures include adherence to Centria policies, flawless execution of tasks, a timely, positive customer service experience for team members, and a high level of compliance. Success also includes meeting or exceeding personal and professional qualitative and quantitative key performance indicator (KPI) metrics. Specific to this new role, success includes both the development and execution of career pathways that allow for both organic matriculation through the paths and strategic and focused matriculation that aligns with organizational priorities. Specifically, success includes the robust development, deployment, and ongoing execution of career pathways from behavior technician through Area Director of Clinical Service, inclusive of a practicum program that increases awareness of the program, recruits both internally and externally for participation, and, most importantly, strategically aligns clinical apprentices ready to client needs in locations needed to continue to grow the organization and meet the needs of families seeking our services within 12 months of joining.  Additionally, this role will be responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and ongoing measurement and execution of a program that develops supervising clinicians, both in their current roles and with a clear career path to other clinical leadership roles within the organization within 18 months of joining.  Lastly, this role will partner with Human Resources to action feedback from our clinical team during exit and engagement (stay) interviews to ensure the development of Directors of Clinical Services to enhance the experience of our Supervising Clinicians and improve retention for that group.

Duties and Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership and Framework Development
    • Design and implement a structured career pathway framework to support clinical team members’ development from entry-level Behavior Technician roles to senior clinical leadership positions.
    • Establish clear, measurable competencies and skillsets for success at each career stage.Unify the development continuum across our multistate organization, ensuring consistency while adapting to regional needs.
    • Align clinical mentorship initiatives with Centria’s strategic priorities, reinforcing evidence-based practices, leadership excellence, and team member engagement.
  2. Program Execution and Change Management
    • Oversee the successful execution of the career pathway framework, ensuring natural progression and accelerated development in key areas.
    • Drive adoption of the framework by engaging clinical subject matter experts, operational leaders, HR, and training teams.
    • Foster an integrated and collaborative approach across departments, ensuring alignment between professional development initiatives and company goals.
    • Identify and address challenges in clinical workforce development, including retention and growth of high-potential team members.
  3. Leadership and Mentorship
    • Serve as a visionary leader in clinical staff development, promoting best practices in mentorship and competency-building.
    • Support Board Certified Behavior Analysts and future leaders in enhancing both their clinical and professional skillsets.
    • Ensure mentorship programs focus on developing highly competent, ethical, and productive Clinicians.
    • Develop a first-in-class practicum program that best prepares candidates to become highly effective Supervising Clinicians and leaders within our assent driven model of care.
  4.  Talent Retention and Professional Development
    • Design retention strategies that enhance job satisfaction, career growth, and leadership opportunities for clinical team members.
    • Develop customized learning paths and resources tailored to varying experience levels.
    • Collaborate with HR and talent development teams to integrate leadership training into the career pathway framework.
  5. Compliance with Centria’s Code of Conduct, policies and procedures, and Federal and State laws.
  6. Responsibility to report violations of Company policies or the Code of Conduct.

This role is responsible for:

  • Leading and maintaining team members by interviewing, selecting, orienting, and training team members;
  • Ensuring the daily functions of the department are completed by communicating job expectations; planning, monitoring, and appraising job results;
  • Managing, coaching, and developing a high performing team that meets agreed objectives, and which delivers best practice results, added value, and continuous improvements;
  • Maintaining regular contact with team members regarding performance, expectation setting, and coaching on policies and procedures related to their responsibilities, including but not limited to attendance, professionalism, etc.;
  • Assigning and managing team members’ caseload and work assignments;
  • Evaluating the performance of team members, initiating disciplinary measures up to and including termination, including performance improvement plans and disciplinary action forms;
  • Approving Paid Time Off and Leave of Absence requests;
  • Consistently promote high standards through personal example and roll out through the team so that each team member understands the standards and behaviors expected of them.

Qualifications

Education

  • Master's degree or higher from an accredited university in acceptance with BACB guidelines
  • Completion of 8-hour supervision course, or willing to complete within first 30 days

Work Experience

  • Proven senior-level leadership experience, ideally in a multi-state healthcare or behavioral health organization.
  • Extensive experience in clinical mentorship, workforce development, and leadership training.
  • Strong change management skills, with the ability to drive transformation and consensus among diverse stakeholders.
  • Recognized subject matter expertise in clinical development, with a deep understanding of behavior analysis and professional competency-building.
  • Demonstrated success in unifying development initiatives across multiple regions, ensuring both scalability and local adaptability.
  • Exceptional ability to collaborate with HR, clinical leaders, and operational teams to build a seamless professional development ecosystem.

Equipment and Technology Requirements

  • Working knowledge of laptop/desktop PC
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Suite (Word, Excel)
  • Proficiency in G Suite (Gmail, Drive, Docs, Sheets, Google Meet)

Working Conditions

  • Centria's office hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30 AM – 6:00 PM.
  • Additional time or occasional shift in schedule may be required to complete the above work or meet company objectives.

Physical Demands

While performing the duties of this job, physical requirements such as bending, reaching, lifting, pushing, or pulling up to 30 pounds may be required. This role will require sitting most of the day as well as walking and standing periodically. This role may require close visual acuity on computer screens or monitors and the ability to analyze data and figures on a screen.
