Vice President of Operations
What You’ll Do:
The Vice President of Operations leads the construction team through the entire construction process from inception to completion, emphasizing customer satisfaction. The Vice President of Operations reports directly to the Division President and improves current systems and work processes. This position plays a critical role in the direction and management of the construction process and overall field management.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- Construction:
- Provide high-quality, on-time delivery of Century homes, all while balancing the financial objectives of the Division.
- Act as a liaison, director, and manager to all construction field personnel. Ensure work quality of all subcontractors, architects, engineers.
- Coordinate build times and resolve any outstanding construction items.
- Manage building schedules to ensure on-time deliveries.
- Lead efforts to manage, hire and train all Construction personnel.
- Ensure accuracy of construction status reporting.
- Provide evaluation of sub-contractor performance.
- Responsible for quality control, quality assurance, EPA, and OSHA compliance.
- Serve as a contact for third-party risk engineering departments and the company’s construction insurance provider.
- Responsible for the appearance of all communities, models, and spec homes
- Review all work in process to ensure compliance with plans and specifications, building codes, and company standards.
- Review and recommend improvements to both existing and proposed plans. Responsible for ensuring that all needed redlining of plans is complete.
- Field responsibility for controlling costs, achieving budgeted margins, and improving the bottom line.
- Responsible for accuracy of approvals for payment of all subcontractor invoices.
- Customer Care Department:
- Oversee and manage the Director of New Home Warranty, Warranty Coordinator, and Customer Service Representatives.
- Establish and monitor customer care policies, processes, and procedures to ensure complete homebuyer satisfaction.
- Resolve any outstanding customer complaints and seek ways to improve customer survey results and the complete customer experience.
- Supervisory Responsibility:
- Responsible for planning and directing work and appraising performance.
- Make recommendations to the Division President on promotions, transfers, salary, hiring, disciplinary discussions, and terminations.
- Oversight of the Procurement/Purchasing function for the Division.
- Manage all field development operations.
- Assist with management of all bond & LOC refunds.
- Safety:
- Maintain general safety program to include conducting periodic inspections and safety programs yearly.
- Report all unsafe practices to management.
- Perform other duties as needed or assigned.
What You Have:
- In-depth knowledge in all aspects of the homebuilding industry.
- Strong knowledge of residential construction concepts and practices.
- Experience analyzing and interpreting financial reports.
- Ability to read blueprints.
- Proven ability to build, develop and manage activities of direct reports.
- Excellent analytical and problem resolution capabilities.
- Effectively respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or business community members.
- Maintain effective working relationships with customers, contracted agencies and workers, other employees, supervisory personnel.
Your Education and Experience:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field is required.
- A Minimum of 10 years of experience in single and multi-family construction management.
- Previous experience managing both internal and field personnel is required.
Compensation: Century Communities (the "Company") intends to offer the selected candidate an annual base salary in the range of $220,000 - $240,000 with the potential for other financial incentives. Actual offers will be based on a variety of factors, including experience. Employees will have access to paid time off, medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, and the Company's 401(k) plan.
