Benefits and Leave Administrator

What You’ll Do:

The Benefits & Leave Administrator is responsible for supporting the day‑to‑day administration of employee benefits and leave of absence programs. This role ensures accurate processing, proactive employee support, and exceptional customer service in every interaction. The ideal candidate is detail‑oriented, solutions‑focused, and able to balance administrative tasks with meaningful employee communication.

 

Your Key Responsibilities Include:

Benefits Administration

  • Assist in the administration of health, dental, vision, life, disability, and other employee benefit programs.
  • Support new‑hire benefit enrollment, life event changes, and annual open enrollment processes.
  • Respond to employee benefit questions with clarity, empathy, and accuracy.
  • Maintain employee benefit records and ensure proper documentation and data integrity.
  • Work closely with vendors, brokers, and third‑party administrators to resolve issues.
  • Support compliance activities such as ACA reporting, nondiscrimination testing, plan audits, and required notices.

Leave of Absence Administration

  • Administer leaves of absence including FMLA, state leaves, ADA accommodation processes, personal leaves, and company‑specific programs.
  • Provide employees with timely communication regarding rights, requirements, and next steps.
  • Coordinate paperwork, track eligibility, and maintain accurate and confidential leave files.
  • Partner with HR, payroll, and managers to ensure accurate pay, time tracking, and smooth transitions before, during, and after leave.
  • Monitor return‑to‑work dates and ensure appropriate follow‑through.

Employee Experience & Customer Service

  • Serve as the first point of contact for benefits and leave inquiries with a friendly, service‑oriented mindset.
  • Provide empathetic, knowledgeable support during potentially sensitive or stressful employee situations.
  • Deliver complex benefits and leave information in a way that is easy to understand.
  • Look for opportunities to improve processes, communication, and service delivery.

 

What You Have:

  • Knowledge of benefit-related laws and regulations.
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office Suite, including Excel or related software.
  • Proficiency with or the ability to quickly learn the organization’s HRIS.
  • Ability to act with integrity, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Strong customer service skills and business acumen.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and keen attention to detail.
  • Practical time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks.

 

Your Education and Experience:

  • 1-3 years of experience in benefits administration, leave administration, HR operations, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Familiarity with COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, and other related state and federal regulations is required.
  • Demonstrated commitment to excellent customer service with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail, accuracy, and follow-through.
  • Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and secretion.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Proficiency or ability to quickly learn HRIS and Microsoft Office (such as Excel).

 

Compensation:
 
Century Communities (the "Company") intends to offer the selected candidate an annual base salary in the range of $65,000-$72,000 with the potential for other financial incentives. Actual offers will be based on a variety of factors, including experience. Employees will have access to paid time off, medical, dental, vision, basic life insurance, and the Company's 401(k) plan.
