Corporate Paralegal
What You’ll Do:
The Corporate Paralegal supports the Legal Department by assisting with contract administration, corporate governance, regulatory compliance, and real estate-related legal matters. This role works closely with internal departments including Land Acquisition, Purchasing, Construction, Finance, Sales, Human Resources, and Executive Leadership to help manage legal risk and ensure efficient business operations. The ideal candidate will have at least one year of experience in the residential homebuilding industry and a strong understanding of construction, real estate, and corporate legal processes.
Your Key Responsibilities Include:
- Assist in the closing of real estate purchases, including coordination of all aspects of the transaction: including due diligence review, monitoring contingencies, conducting title, survey, and environmental reviews, preparing title objections, addressing zoning issues, clearing title and survey matters, and preparing conveyance and closing documents.
- Support the administration of land acquisition, development, vendor, consulting, and service agreements.
- Track contract execution, key obligations, renewal dates, and document retention requirements.
- Assist with claims management involving homeowners, vendors, contractors, and insurance carriers.
- Conduct legal and regulatory research on real estate, construction, employment, and corporate matters.
- Manage legal files and databases while ensuring confidentiality and record retention compliance.
- Support due diligence activities for land acquisitions, development projects, and corporate transactions.
- Communicate with outside counsel, title companies, governmental agencies, and internal stakeholders.
- Assist in developing and maintaining legal department processes, templates, and tracking systems.
- Perform other legal and administrative duties as assigned.
What You Have:
- Knowledge of residential construction, land development, real estate transactions, and contract management preferred.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite, document management systems, and legal databases.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to handle confidential information with professionalism and discretion.
- Outstanding client management skills with an ability to inspire confidence and trust in a variety of clients.
- Ability to work with complex legal issues, including drafting and negotiating real estate transactions.
- Demonstrated ability to balance and prioritize multiple projects and initiatives and timely follow-up.
Your Education and Experience:
- Associate degree, Paralegal Certificate, or equivalent combination of education and experience required.
- Minimum one (1) year of legal, paralegal, contract administration, or related experience within the residential homebuilding industry required.
