Econometric and Statistical Analyst

Job Description: We are seeking an experienced data analyst to support the executive team with developing financial models to gain insights on current and future company performance. This dynamic role encompasses a range of responsibilities, including financial modeling, econometrics, quantitative analysis and regression-based forecasting, reporting to the executive management team. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Work on-site at our NYC office located in the financial district. Occasional work may be required at our other office locations, including Glen Rock, NJ, Miami, FL and Reston, VA.
  • Development of unit economics models to define return on capital, NPV and IRR goals for the business 
  • Develop parametric financial models to investigate the impact of policy changes on key financial results 
  • Define and develop executive-level dashboards to instrument company performance 
  • Develop regression models to help forecast performance across cohorts of the portfolio 
  • Special projects in support of the executive team • Prepare presentations to executive team regarding the achievement of key metric goals

Experience and Educational Requirements: 

  • Minimum of 5 years experience of complex financial modeling including unit economics, regression analysis, and application of higher-level math for identifying/predicting inflection points 
  • Must have significant experience as a power user of Microsoft Excel with demonstrated ability to work with large datasets augmented with tools like Gigasheet. Must have mastery of data manipulations, scripting, and VBA. 
  • Experience with SQL, R, SPSS, SAS, Python or similar tools preferred 
  • Experience with AI-based analytics via prompt engineering and other methods highly preferred 
  • Must be proficient with presentation tools such as PowerPoint for preparation of executive level briefings. 
  • Must have significant experience with a financial services company; alternative lending experience preferred.

  • Strong analytic skills coupled with strong story-telling skills – find and explain the root cause of success and deviation 
  • Ability to understand the core economics of the business and provide insight into trendlines 
  • Ability to work independently to design and implement processes and achieve project goals 

Education 

  • Undergraduate degree in finance, economics, or mathematics 
  • Graduate degree(s) in related fields highly preferred

 

Salary Range

$120,000 - $150,000 USD
