Job Overview
Chainguard is looking for an experienced and strategic Director of APAC (ANZ, Asia & Japan) Field Marketing to lead and build our regional marketing programs from the ground up. This is a newly created role, and you’ll be instrumental in designing and executing a field marketing strategy that supports growth, drives pipeline, and strengthens engagement with key regional accounts across APAC. As a senior leader, you’ll act as a close business partner to the VP of APAC and play a critical role in shaping our go-to-market presence in the region. This role is based in Sydney with remote work flexibility, and offers the opportunity to regularly engage with the APAC Leadership Team within our APAC Hub in Sydney.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategy & Leadership: Develop and execute a comprehensive regional marketing strategy tailored to the unique dynamics of the APAC market. As the region scales, build and lead a high-performing marketing team.
- Demand Generation: Create scalable programs that drive awareness, engagement, and qualified pipeline through a multi-channel approach — including events, executive engagements, partners, digital, and PR initiatives.
- Sales Partnership: Collaborate closely with the APAC leadership team and sales organisation to align marketing activities with regional revenue goals. Identify and prioritise key accounts and GTM Partners to support targeted campaigns that accelerate deal progression.
- Insights & Optimization: Monitor territory health, campaign performance, and funnel metrics. Leverage insights to optimize targeting, improve ROI, and evolve programs based on regional performance.
- Operational Excellence: Collaborate closely with the International Marketing Senior Director based in EMEA, the broader EMEA Marketing team, and the Global Marketing organization to develop scalable frameworks and field marketing best practices. Ensure consistent application across the region, while driving operational rigor, efficiency, and repeatable success.
- Measurement & Reporting: Regularly communicate results and insights to stakeholders, and continuously optimize based on performance.
Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in field marketing, demand generation, or integrated marketing, with a track record of success in APAC regional leadership roles.
- Proven experience building regional marketing functions and leading high-impact teams in a high-growth environment.
- Deep understanding of regional nuances across APAC and experience aligning field marketing initiatives with account-based sales strategies.
- Strong cross-functional collaboration skills with a demonstrated ability to partner effectively with sales, marketing ops, partners, and executive leadership.
- Highly experienced in working with the partner community across the APAC region to build joint go-to-market (GTM) marketing strategies with strategic partners
