Strategic Events Specialist
Chainguard is looking for a Strategic Event Specialist to own the planning and execution of our event program — from industry conferences to developer meetups and partner activations. You'll work closely with field marketing, demand gen, and sales to ensure every event is tightly aligned to pipeline goals and leaves attendees with a clear sense of what Chainguard is building and why it matters.
This role is fundamentally about execution. You'll work closely with the Director of Events and Senior Event Manager to bring programs to life — owning the logistics, coordinating vendors, and making sure every detail lands on time and on budget.
What you'll do
- Plan and execute Chainguard's presence at third-party conferences, sponsored events, and owned experiences — end to end, from venue and vendor management to post-event reporting
- Manage event budgets, timelines, logistics and swag with precision and without a lot of hand-holding
- Coordinate with sales and SDR teams to drive pre-event outreach, meeting scheduling, and post-event follow-up
- Track event performance against pipeline and engagement metrics, and bring those learnings back into future planning
- Flex into other marketing programs — Swag management, Internal events, etc…
- Build and maintain relationships with key vendors, venues, and partners in the developer and security ecosystem
What we're looking for
- 3–4 years of experience in event marketing, demand generation, or a related function at a tech company
- Familiarity with the developer tools, open source, or cloud infrastructure ecosystem — you understand the communities we're building with and the practitioners we're trying to reach
- Strong project management skills and a track record of running multiple events simultaneously without dropping details
- A collaborative instinct and genuine willingness to roll up your sleeves across field marketing, content, or wherever the team needs coverage
- Comfort with ambiguity and the ability to make good decisions without complete information
- Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time for events and team offsites
- Ability to lift and transport event materials up to 50 lbs
Nice to have
- Experience with event management tools (Splash, Bizzabo, Goldcast, or similar)
- Familiarity with Salesforce for tracking event ROI and pipeline influence
Base Salary Range
$85,000 - $100,000 USD
