About The Role
We’re hiring a hands-on Product Marketing Manager to own execution across Chalk’s core product marketing surface area.
This is a true individual contributor role with high ownership. You’ll work closely with Engineering, FDEs, Sales, RevOps, and Marketing to translate Chalk’s technical capabilities into compelling content, clear messaging, strong narratives, and high-impact go-to-market assets.
You’ll be expected to take a data-driven approach to product marketing. That means grounding what you write and what you prioritize in customer and sales data, and pipeline performance. You’ll use these signals to decide what to build, what to test, and what to double down on, and to clearly communicate what’s working and why.
This is not a 0-to-1 role. Chalk has a meaningful PMM foundation — messaging frameworks, content strategy, ICP documentation, and sales enablement materials that are ready for the next level. You’ll inherit that foundation and elevate it: sharpening the narrative, expanding sales enablement, and building the customer proof points we need to win enterprise deals.
You’ll report to the VP of Marketing and be deeply embedded in how Chalk goes to market across our website, launches, and sales motion. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys writing, moving fast, taking ownership, and turning ambiguity into shipped work.
We’re in the office five days a week. When unavoidable conflicts come up, we’re flexible. This is not a hybrid role.
What You’ll Do
- Own content execution for Chalk’s product marketing by writing and shipping high-quality product marketing content including website copy, launch messaging, solution pages, customer narratives, and sales enablement materials.
- Translate complex technical product capabilities into clear, customer-facing stories grounded in real-world use cases and outcomes.
- Own briefs, drafts, revisions, and final delivery from first outline to published asset.
- Own execution of Chalk’s product and solutions messaging across the website, sales materials, and launch assets, measuring impact and iterating based on results.
- Support product launches with messaging, demo narratives, field guides, and enablement assets informed by customer insights and performance metrics
- Build and maintain sales enablement materials such as pitch decks, discovery frameworks, and objection-handling content in close partnership with Sales, FDEs, and developer advocates.
- Develop customer-facing narratives, use cases, and proof points grounded in quantitative outcomes and real-world results
- Partner with Sales and RevOps to understand funnel performance, pipeline impact, and where messaging and content is accelerating or blocking momentum
- Apply and evolve Chalk’s value framework through shipped content and ensure it’s applied consistently across industries, use cases, and go-to-market motions
- Own competitive intelligence — build and maintain battle cards, track competitor moves, and brief the sales team on positioning shifts so they’re always walking into deals prepared
- Define and maintain ICP and buyer personas — ensure every GTM team has a shared, up-to-date model of who we sell to, what they care about, and why they buy
- Build customer marketing infrastructure — own the pipeline of case studies, testimonials, and reference materials that turn customer wins into sales tools and category proof points
What We’re Looking For
- 5–7 years of experience in product marketing or a closely related role, ideally at a high-growth startup
- Strong written communication skills and the ability to ship content about complex technical systems clearly and accurately
- Experience owning PMM deliverables end-to-end, from messaging through execution
- Strong quantitative instincts and comfort using data to prioritize work and evaluate impact
- Experience working closely with engineers and highly technical stakeholders
- An operator mindset with a bias toward action, iteration, and learning
- Strong collaboration skills and comfort working cross-functionally
- Experience in a sales-led, enterprise B2B go-to-market — you understand how complex sales cycles work and how PMM accelerates them
Bonus Points
- You've been the first or second PMM at an early-stage enterprise or developer-focused company
- Experience with partner marketing or co-marketing programs
- Familiarity with ML, data infrastructure, or developer-focused products

Compensation
Salary Range
$150,000 – $250,000 - Offers equity + benefits
Chalk offers early team members a generous salary + equity package based on experience and competitive benefits.
Actual compensation awarded to successful candidates will be based on several factors, including but not limited to: market, location, scope of the position and individual qualifications objectively assessed during the interview process.
