Sales Development Manager

About Chalk

Chalk is building the data platform that powers the future of machine learning applications. We tear down complexity, latency, and scale barriers that have traditionally constrained ML capabilities. Our platform combines Rust-speed performance with elegant tools that developers love to use. Leading companies depend on Chalk for everything from stopping fraudulent credit card swipes, verifying identities, and maximizing clean energy capture.

About the Role

Reporting to the Head of Revenue, the SDR Manager will take on and scale our incredible outbound SDR team. The Chalk SDR organization is sharp, gritty, and creative in finding Chalk’s next customers at the right time. We are looking for someone with a history of scaling what’s already working while identifying areas for improvement.

You will strategically implement repeatable processes, evolve the SDR playbook, manage a team of SDRs, and play a meaningful role in the success of Chalk’s GTM organization.

We work in-person Monday through Friday in our NY office. We don’t currently offer remote or hybrid positions at this time.

What you will do

  • Hire, onboard, and train world-class SDRs to identify and create qualified opportunities
  • Build a playbook across different segments and personas to create repeatability
  • Meticulously monitor and analyze team performance metrics and KPIs, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions as necessary
  • Own and manage the outbound tech stack
  • Coach SDRs to improve their prospecting, qualification, and outbound/inbound sales skills, ensuring consistent improvement
  • Ensure effective lead tracking, reporting, and data management in the CRM system; analyze performance metrics, pinpoint areas for enhancement, and execute initiatives to optimize sales development
  • Collaborate with product marketing, sales, developer advocacy, and operations to refine messaging
  • Demonstrate leadership in shaping our value messaging and contribute to strategic sales cycles

What we’re Looking For

  • 2+ years of experience managing SDRs in fast-paced, high-growth companies
  • Proven experience owning and building SDR playbooks from scratch
  • Track record of achieving and exceeding KPIs
  • Mastery of sales and outbound tooling—you understand what tools we need and why
  • Passion for training, motivating, and coaching in a high-speed environment—we want to grow the next generation of Chalk GTM talent
  • Both left- and right-brained—you are as comfortable workshopping messaging as you are analyzing metrics
  • Ruthless prioritization and an obsession with data—everyone at Chalk is on the data team, and we want to know what’s working (and why!)
  • A collaborative attitude with strong cross-functional skills—you can build the dashboard and write the script
  • A kaizen approach—by the time you launch, you’re already thinking through the next iteration

Bonus Points

  • Experience selling ML/data products or services.
  • Understanding of MLOps/Infrastructure.

If you believe you belong to any of the categories of protected veterans listed below, please indicate by making the appropriate selection. As a government contractor subject to the Vietnam Era Veterans Readjustment Assistance Act (VEVRAA), we request this information in order to measure the effectiveness of the outreach and positive recruitment efforts we undertake pursuant to VEVRAA. Classification of protected categories is as follows:

A "disabled veteran" is one of the following: a veteran of the U.S. military, ground, naval or air service who is entitled to compensation (or who but for the receipt of military retired pay would be entitled to compensation) under laws administered by the Secretary of Veterans Affairs; or a person who was discharged or released from active duty because of a service-connected disability.

Voluntary Self-Identification of Disability

Form CC-305
OMB Control Number 1250-0005
Expires 04/30/2026

Why are you being asked to complete this form?

We are a federal contractor or subcontractor. The law requires us to provide equal employment opportunity to qualified people with disabilities. We have a goal of having at least 7% of our workers as people with disabilities. The law says we must measure our progress towards this goal. To do this, we must ask applicants and employees if they have a disability or have ever had one. People can become disabled, so we need to ask this question at least every five years.

Completing this form is voluntary, and we hope that you will choose to do so. Your answer is confidential. No one who makes hiring decisions will see it. Your decision to complete the form and your answer will not harm you in any way. If you want to learn more about the law or this form, visit the U.S. Department of Labor’s Office of Federal Contract Compliance Programs (OFCCP) website at www.dol.gov/ofccp.
