What You’ll Present 

As the Prep Cook, you will prepare meal ingredients, simple dishes, condiments, and other items as directed by the Executive Chef. The prep cook will help keep the kitchen organized and running efficiently.  The prep cook will also ensure proper food handling, sanitation and following food storage procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Prepare meal ingredients as directed by the Executive Chef
  • Prepare fresh produce by peeling, cutting, and portioning
  • Prepare meat by trimming, cutting, and portioning
  • Prepare simple dishes such as bread or salads
  • Mix or prepare condiments, dressings, and sauces
  • Maintain compliance with applicable health, safety, food handling, and hygiene codes and standards
  • Assists with unloading, inspection, and storage of raw ingredients and supplies
  • Empty trash bins, collect and remove waste from the floor and work surfaces, separate recyclables and
    properly dispose of grease
  • Wash dishes and all cooking utensils, pots, pans, also clean kitchen equipment
  • Clean, sanitize, and maintain the dish machine
  • Unload dishes and utensils from dish machine and organize them properly
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • Must be 21 years or older
  • Prior experience in restaurant
  • At least one year experience as a prep cook / line cook
  • Work afternoon shifts also to include weekends and holidays 
  • Excellent attention to detail and the ability to perform multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
  • Food Handler’s Certification
  • Understanding of various cooking methods, ingredients, equipment, and procedures
  • Ability to address issues in a professional manner through effective interpersonal communication
  • Ability to adhere to all company policies and the code of conduct
  • Exemplary time and resource management including good attendance
