The Chan Zuckerberg Biohub San Francisco (CZ Biohub SF) (https://www.czbiohub.org/sf/) is an independent nonprofit research institute that brings together three powerhouse universities - Stanford, UC Berkeley, and UC San Francisco - into a single collaborative technology and discovery engine. The Opportunity
We are seeking an outstanding Manager - Human Resources Operations to join our Human Resources/People team.
You will
- Lead HR operations for CZ Biohub SF, ensuring alignment with Network HR goals while addressing local operational needs to promote consistency and scalability
- Partner closely with the HR Business Partner for CZ Biohub SF to implement HR initiatives including talent reviews, workforce planning and employee engagement strategies
- Manage and optimize key HR processes, including onboarding, compensation, benefits administration, leave management, immigration support, policy enforcement, reward programs, and offboarding for CZ Biohub SF employees
- Execute compensation planning and administration within board-approved salary structure and in alignment with overall compensation philosophy including merit increases, promotions, and bonus programs for CZ Biohub SF
- Provide comprehensive benefits support, including employee enrollment, plan communications, and management of annual open enrollment sessions
- Drive the adoption of new HR systems and technology, collaborating with Network HR to ensure smooth implementation and providing training and support for employees and leadership
- Develop and maintain HR analytics and reporting to inform strategic decision-making at CZ Biohub SF
- Be an ambassador of CZ Biohub culture by partnering with the HR Business Partner and leadership to drive initiatives that promote employee engagement and enhance workplace culture
- Ensure all employment practices comply with Federal, California state, and local regulations, as well as adherence to internal policies
You have
Essential –
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field or equivalent
- 7-10 years’ experience in HR
- Advanced proficiency with Excel
- Demonstrated in depth experience in the various HR functional areas, especially compensation, HRIS, benefits and payroll
- Ability to work at all levels of the HR “stack” - strategic, operational, and tactical
- Critical thinker with success in developing innovative solutions to organizational issues
- Ability to thrive in an unstructured environment
- Independent self-starter, with the ability to effectively work collaboratively across disciplines
- Ability to manage multiple, complex issues and prioritize projects concurrently
- High integrity and highly aligned with the mission and CZ Biohub values
- Demonstrated credibility and integrity in communications (interpersonal, written, verbal, etc.)

Compensation
- $124,000 - $170,500
New hires are typically hired into the lower portion of the range, enabling employee growth in the range over time. To determine starting pay, we consider multiple job-related factors including a candidate’s skills, education and experience, market demand, business needs, and internal parity. We may also adjust this range in the future based on market data. Your recruiter can share more about the specific pay range during the hiring process.
