Recruiter

Redwood City, CA (Open to Flex)

The Chan Zuckerberg Initiative was founded by Priscilla Chan and Mark Zuckerberg in 2015 to help solve some of society’s toughest challenges — from eradicating disease and improving education to addressing the needs of our local communities. Our mission is to build a more inclusive, just, and healthy future for everyone.

The Team

Across our work in Science, Education, and within our communities, we pair technology with grantmaking, impact investing, and collaboration to help accelerate the pace of progress toward our mission. Our Operations organization provides the support needed to push this work forward.

Operations consists of our Brand & Communications, Central Tech, Finance, People, Real Estate/Workplace/Events/Facilities/Security (REWFS), Strategy & Operations, and Ventures teams. These teams provide the essential operations, services, and strategies needed to support CZI’s progress toward achieving its mission to build a better future for everyone.

The Opportunity

At CZI, our people power our mission to build a better future for everyone. The Recruiting team plays a critical role in advancing that mission by identifying, attracting, and hiring exceptional, mission-aligned talent. In this role, you’ll lead full-cycle recruiting efforts across Operations teams. You’ll partner with leaders at every level, from emerging talent to executive search, to ensure we hire individuals who bring both immediate impact and long-term potential.

In this role, you’ll lead full-cycle recruiting for a range of roles across our Operations teams. You’ll partner with hiring managers and cross-functional collaborators to ensure we’re hiring individuals who bring both immediate impact and long-term potential.

As part of our small but mighty team, you’ll balance hands-on execution with the opportunity to continuously improve how we recruit, bringing curiosity, structure, and care to each stage of the hiring process. You’ll also support key talent programs, including early-career pipelines, as we build for the future. We’re looking for someone who is collaborative, organized, and proactive—someone who thrives in a mission-driven environment and brings a high level of attention to candidate experience and stakeholder partnership. You’re excited to grow your recruiting craft while contributing meaningfully to a high-performing, values-aligned team. Most importantly, you’re someone who makes the team better, whether by sharing knowledge, offering new perspectives, or pushing us to raise the bar. You’re excited to close top talent, run efficient and human-centered hiring processes, and help us continuously evolve our recruiting strategy to stay ahead of the curve.

This is a hybrid position: team members are expected to work from our office in Redwood City, CA, 60% of the working month (about 3 days per week).

  • Candidate Experience: Champion a high-quality, human-centered candidate experience by ensuring clarity, responsiveness, and empathy at every stage of the process

  • Data-Driven Recruiting: Use recruiting tools and data insights to monitor trends, optimize process performance, and inform broader talent strategies

What You'll Bring

  • Skilled in identifying, engaging, and closing high-quality talent across a variety of roles and experience levels
  • Strong organizational and time management skills, with a track record of driving searches forward efficiently and meeting key milestones
  • Comfortable using recruiting metrics and data to guide decisions and improve outcomes
  • Experience with ATS and sourcing tools such as Workday, Greenhouse, LinkedIn Recruiter, or SeekOut
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build trust and credibility across teams
