Role Overview:

We are seeking a Production Test Engineer to join our dynamic team in Los Angeles. In this role, they will be responsible for developing, refining, and executing system and subsystem-level test artifacts to ensure compliance to integrated hardware and software Technical Data Package (TDP) requirements. In addition, they will be expected to work collaboratively across the Production team, the Hardware and Software R&D teams, and the Systems Engineering team. The ideal candidate will have experience developing and analyzing complex system requirements, experience working in both R&D prototyping and high-rate production environments, experience with RF systems, and experience with scripting/automation of COTS test equipment and eSTEs.

Responsibilities:

  • Understand performance requirements of complex systems, ideally Radar and RF systems and provide technical support for developing and executing system and subsystem-level tests to verify and validate those requirements
  • Provide technical support to the entire product life cycle development activities, including: requirements development and analysis, system validation and verification, hardware/software test, system level integration, interface definition, test planning, and test execution
  • Analyze product specifications to determine appropriate designs and processes that support customer requirements
  • Develop/execute test plans, verification and or acceptance test procedures, development of scripts (preferably Python) as well as utilization/configuration of COTS tooling and Electrical Special Test Equipments (eSTEs) to verify system requirements and prove system compliance
  • Support the development and improvement of operations processes / products / training materials, the investigation and diagnosis of unexpected system signatures, and the coordination and implementation of system maintenance tasks
  • Provide Test Equipment (TE) integration, troubleshooting, sustainment, and compliance with the ultimate responsibility to maintain test integrity and the availability for our test systems.
  • Support field deployments as required to assist Forward Deployed Engineering (FDE) team with system operation and root cause, corrective action (RCCA) implementation

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) and minimum 5 years prior relevant experience or an advanced degree in a related field and minimum 3 years experience
  • U.S. Person status (i.e. U.S. Citizen or lawful permanent resident/Green Card holder)
  • Familiarity in sub system or systems architecting and system-of-systems definition
  • Experience developing training courses and training others
  • Experience generating of test scripts to automate integration
  • Experience developing system level designs, high level control and data interfaces
  • Experience with Linux-based operating systems
  • Experience with scripting languages, such as C++, Matlab, Python or Bash
  • Experience within a manufacturing environment, ideally high-rate
  • Experience leading multi-disciplined teams or projects
  • Innovative mindset that drives continuous improvement, lean manufacturing and keeps pace with advances in technology
  • Experience with technical writing and problem solving
  • Demonstrated hands-on mechanical aptitude with the ability to work across disciplines

Preferred Requirements:

  • The ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance
  • Experience trending and troubleshooting RF systems
  • Experience with IPv4 networking, including proficiency in subnetting, network masks, routing principles, and network tools (e.g., Wireshark, Netstat, Socat) for effective configuration and troubleshooting
  • Experience with use and automation of commercial test equipment (e.g. DMM, Oscilloscope, Signal Generator, Spectrum Analyzer, Logic Analyzer
  • Experience developing and maintaining operational procedures, products and training materials. Knowledge of whole lifecycle process from requirements development to maintenance and sustainment
  • Experience in digital and/or RF/Microwave system theory and design, including architectures, subsystems, and components to help develop, integrate, and test Radar and signal processing products and technologies
  • Integration and test of CCAs and subsystems
  • Hands-on experience with design simulation tools such as ADS and Mentor Graphics’ Xpedition and analytical tools such as Matlab or equivalent
  • Experience working in a laboratory environment using logic analyzers, oscilloscopes, phase noise analyzer (PNA), spectrum analyzers, real time spectrum analyzers, and performance network analyzers to test and verify the functions of digital and RF signal circuits and subsystems
  • Experience in a production environment

Salary Range: $110,000 - $150,000

The stated compensation range reflects only the targeted base compensation range and excludes additional earnings such as bonus, equity, and benefits. The salary range for this role is an estimate based on a range of compensation factors, inclusive of base salary only.
