Business Operations Analyst

Hawthorne, California, United States

CHAOS Inc. is a global technology company delivering next-generation capabilities to the defense and critical industrial sectors. Founded in 2022 by a seasoned leadership team, CHAOS has quickly become the place where world-class multi-disciplinary engineers come to build mission-critical technologies. CHAOS has a mission-focused culture, dedicated to solving the toughest technical challenges. Its unique agile engineering approach enables rapid prototyping, while deep partnerships with defense and industry ensure real-world solutions.

Role Overview:

This role will enable business outcomes by skillfully accelerating multi-domain projects and capabilities critical to the business. While residing within the Operations organization, this person will work across the company (Engineering, Business Development, Manufacturing, and Finance) to identify, organize, and lead projects that improve CHAOS’ ability to win, sometimes embedding within those parts of the business. The ideal candidate will have experience in both technical and general project management and proven track record of working across company structures. Expect this role to be very dynamic – solve one problem, transition it to an owner, and get started on the next.

Responsibilities:

  • Own the thing that has no owner. CHAOS is a dynamic company running directly into our customer’s most urgent needs. At this speed we identify critical gaps to successful execution that are multi-domain and where responsibility doesn’t reside in a single part of the company. This role’s task is own that gap, close it, and find the next gap. Repeat.
  • Work with data and systems to paint accurate pictures of how the business is performing and changing. Use tools like Excel and SQL to provide insights that help different parts of the business improve.
  • Project manage complex efforts and ensure timely and complete execution. This may include situations where the requirements or tasks to be done are not clear – it is your job to help figure out what needs to be done.

Minimum Requirements:

  • 2+ years of experience in operational, project-based roles, especially in data-driven cultures
  • Technical and general project management experience: CHAOS is an engineering company and some of the projects will require technical acumen. This person will be comfortable learning the technical aspects required to drive the project. These projects can also be process-based and learning new, often byzantine government processes must get you fired up.
  • Working across the aisle(s): The most important experience and skillset required for success in this role is working across a company and navigating the different personalities, priorities, and timelines. Yes, this role is to enable the business, but will require building trust across stakeholders and presenting necessary trade-offs in a professional manner.
  • Enjoy getting your hands dirty – literally: CHAOS is an engineering-first company with a hardware component. Every role at CHAOS requires getting hands-on our technology in either development of customer demonstration conditions. It is critical to our culture that every employee understands what we are building and why.

Why CHAOS?
