- Define, analyze, and decompose complex system, hardware, and software requirements for naval radar systems.
- Ensure requirements are traceable, verifiable, and consistent with evolving system architectures and mission needs.
- Conduct trade studies and analysis of alternatives to optimize system design for performance, cost, and manufacturability.
- Develop and refine high-fidelity, physics-based simulations to test radar concepts, processing techniques, and predict system performance
- Perform statistical analysis of radar system performance using both real and simulated data.
- Conduct detailed, deep-dive analysis to root-cause performance observations and drive design improvements.
- Manage interface control baselines throughout the system lifecycle, addressing changes and impacts.
- Support the integration of radar systems with other naval system components (e.g., Command and Control (C2) systems, combat management systems, effectors, etc) in laboratory, land-based test sites, and shipboard environments.
- Support the integration of radar systems with Guidance Navigation and Control solutions unique to a naval environment
- Develop and execute test plans, procedures, and reports for various levels of testing (e.g., unit, integration, system, acceptance).
- Conduct rigorous testing and troubleshooting of radar systems to ensure optimal functionality and performance.
- Analyze live radar test data, identify issues that impact mission requirements, and support anomaly resolution.
- Work closely with cross-functional teams including software developers, hardware engineers, test engineers, and program management.
- Prepare clear and detailed technical documentation, reports, and presentations for internal and external stakeholders
Minimum Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or another related field or equivalent work experience
- 3-5 years of experience in a reliability engineering, failure analysis, or a closely related technical role.
- Strong experience with Radar Systems Engineering
- Experience with naval requirements and system development on naval platforms. Specific understanding of unique environmental, mechanical, EMC/EMI, conditions as well understanding of interfaces and datalinks used in a naval environment
- Experience with Integration and Test in a naval environment
- Software programming experience (Python, MATLAB, C/C++, etc.)
Preferred Requirements:
- Masters degree in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics) or another related field or equivalent work experience
- 5-10+ years of experience in a reliability engineering, failure analysis, or a closely related technical role.
- Hands on experience with existing naval radar systems. Understanding of the strengths and weaknesses of existing systems from a user perspective
- Experience with Radar processing algorithms, including waveform generation, clutter management, electronic protection, detection, discrimination, and tracking
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies.

- More About Us: We're building the next generation of aerospace, defense and critical industry technologies with a seasoned team of mission-focused individuals. We were founded in June 2022 and our goal is to become the platform where world-class engineers come to solve critical, real-world problems. We use agile engineering approaches which enable rapid prototyping, deep partnerships with the defense industry ensuring real-world application, and our newly-invented Coherence platform (through which we’ve made a fundamental breakthrough) improves sensor performance and decision-making in real-time. As of April 2025 we have raised $490M (including a $275M Series C at a $2B valuation) from some of the most prominent VC funds and investors including Accel, NEA, 8VC, and Valar. With a managing team that includes Epirus’ founding members (responsible for building a $1.5B company from scratch) + key drivers from Palantir (instrumental in Palantir’s growth to $1B in revenue), we are well-positioned to become one of the fastest growing companies to date!
