Role Overview:
This role is responsible for driving CHAOS’ growth across the United States by aligning our technical capabilities with the operational needs of military and commercial customers. You will lead high-impact engagements end-to-end—opening doors, shaping requirements, securing commitments, and guiding post-award implementation. Your success depends on staying close to the customer, present in their environment, and engaged at every stage of the mission.
The ideal candidate is a disciplined planner, a skilled coordinator, and a flawless executor—someone who thrives in dynamic operational settings and knows how to translate field requirements into decisive action. You should be just as comfortable in a suit and tie as you are stepping out of a tactical vehicle. Just as important, you must be a true team player: someone who collaborates seamlessly with engineering, leadership, and fellow operators to drive shared success and ensure unified delivery.
Expect every day to be different. Stay hungry—seek out problems early, identify gaps before they become failures, and be the first to deliver solutions. This role requires initiative and presence: go where the customer is, build trust, learn continuously, support your team, drive momentum, and execute with absolute precision.
Responsibilities:
- Understand and translate the customer needs. Military and commercial customers are demanding, each operating with their own language, expectations, and mission pressures. This role requires the initiative to seek out opportunities, build trust in the customer’s environment, and translate their needs into clear, actionable requirements for CHAOS. You are the customer’s voice inside CHAOS and CHAOS’ voice in front of the customer—ensuring alignment, clarity, and a unified path to execution.
- Execute, execute, execute. This role is centered on delivering end-to-end execution for the customer. You will coordinate and plan every phase of engagement—from initial site surveys and environmental assessments, to developing and delivering tailored customer training, to running controlled demonstrations and full-scale operational exercises. Success means anticipating requirements, eliminating friction, and ensuring the customer experiences a seamless, confident deployment of CHAOS capabilities.
- Know our product – know the mission. This role operates on CHAOS’ front line. Success requires a deep understanding of our technology, capabilities, and internal resources—and the ability to align them precisely with mission demands and end-user requirements. When executed well, this role becomes the bridge that makes CHAOS the customer’s most trusted and reliable tactical partner.
- Get out of the office. Be wherever the customer needs us—at corporate headquarters, a military installation, inside the Pentagon, or forward in the field. Build trust by engaging at every level, from tactical operators to senior strategic leaders, learning their challenges and earning their confidence through presence and performance.
Minimum Requirements:
- Problem solving mentality. Fight for information, build a team, be creative, a thought leader and relish the opportunity to take on a difficult problem.
- Program/Project Management: Proven experience in developing requirements, scoping programs, and delivering to customers in the defense industry.
- Enjoy getting your hands dirty – literally: CHAOS is an engineering-first company with a hardware component. This role will involve getting hands-on with hardware in the field with customers.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal. You will interface with customer stakeholders across the entire hierarchy—from day-to-day operators to senior leaders. Your job is to capture their insights, frame them in the right operational context, and deliver them clearly to CHAOS engineering, product management, and senior leadership, ensuring the customer’s voice directly shapes our decisions and capabilities.
- Risk tolerance: We intend to go with our customers to where they need us most to deliver. Hazardous duty pay for approved locations.
- Travel: Willingness and ability to travel up to 50% to customer sites across the United States and abroad in support of mission requirements.
- Security Clearance: Active security clearance, or the ability to obtain one.
Preferred Requirements:
- Experience: Radar, RF, sensor, weapons systems, defense technology or communications experience.
- Prior Military Experience: Extensive experience with U.S. military operations, or a background in military engineering or advanced defense technologies.
- Travel experience: Comfortable deploying as part of a team within the United States or overseas to support operational engagements; capable of operating in remote environments and proactively planning for and mitigating risks to reputation, mission, and personnel.
