POSITION OVERVIEW

As a Full Stack Developer at Chariot Energy, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining both the front-end and back-end components of our applications. You will work closely with cross-functional teams, including product managers, designers, and other developers, to create exceptional user experiences and deliver robust solutions.

This position is located in Houston, TX, and the ideal candidate will be within commutable distance of the Houston office location.

Front-End Development:

  • Collaborate with our marketing, sales, and operations teams to implement user-friendly, and visually appealing interfaces, including seamless mobile interfaces.
  • Integrate authentication mechanisms in web applications using tools such as MSAL with Azure AD B2C and/or Microsoft Entra ID/External ID, ensuring secure and scalable user identity management across various user flows.
  • Design and develop responsive, interactive front-end components using modern JavaScript frameworks (specifically React), ensuring seamless real-time integration with backend REST APIs for dynamic data updates.
  • Contribute to UX strategy by prototyping interactive concepts, refining user flows, and providing feedback on design iterations — balancing aesthetics with usability and business goals.

Back-End Development:

  • Design, develop, and optimize scalable backend systems using C# and Azure technologies, with a focus on server-side processing, database interactions, and enterprise-grade system architecture.
  • Create and maintain RESTful APIs, primarily written as C# Azure functions to enable secure, efficient communication between backend services and front-end applications built with React and JavaScript.
  • Build and integrate complex stored procedures and T-SQL operations within Azure SQL/Microsoft SQL Server, applying database best practices for performance, security, and maintainability.
  • Actively participate in peer code reviews, providing constructive feedback to ensure high-quality, secure, and maintainable backend code.

Cloud & Dev/Ops Integration:

  • Leverage Azure DevOps for full lifecycle management, including version control (Git), CI/CD pipeline automation, testing, monitoring, and cloud deployments across Azure infrastructure.
  • Ensure secure, high-availability cloud applications by integrating authentication/authorization mechanisms, real-time monitoring (Application Insights), to maintain reliability of cloud services.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
  • 5+ years of professional experience as a Full Stack Developer (C#, Python, SQL, React/NextJS, REST APIs), including 3+ years of experience in Azure cloud technologies.
  • Proficiency in Azure services, including but not limited Azure Functions, Azure SQL Database, SQL Server, Azure DevOps (Git, CI/CD pipelines, Scripting), Azure Data Factory, Azure Blob Storage, Azure Redis
  • Strong hands-on experience with SQL and T-SQL, including stored procedure development, query optimization, and database best practices (Azure SQL, MS SQL Server).
  • Proficiency in front-end technologies such as HTML5, CSS3, and JavaScript, along with strong experience in React, React Native (mobile) and/or NextJS.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and a proactive attitude towards challenges.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to delivering high-quality code.

Preferred:

  • Development and/or analyst experience in Energy Markets such as ERCOT, PJM, NYISO.
  • Any Azure Certifications: Azure Developer Associate, Azure DevOps Engineer Expert, etc.
  • Extensive experience of developing in Azure Serverless environment.
  • Experience with IaC tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates, Terraform, or Azure Bicep.
  • Understanding of networking concepts, security best practices, and Azure Active Directory (AAD) for identity and access management.
  • Proficient in using design tools such as Figma to bridge the gap between design and development

Compensation: $130,000 - $160,000 salary
