POSITION OVERVIEW
The Corporate Planning/Financial Analyst is responsible for supporting the Chariot Corporate Planning team by conducting annual and long-term financial planning analysis, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting for Chariot Energy. This will require the Analyst to work with each of the business segments.
The Planning Analyst will be involved in reporting to Headquarters (HQ) in South Korea, so the ideal target candidate must be bilingual and fluent in Korean. The regular deliverables include monthly consolidated Americas variance analysis reports, annual budgets, quarterly and monthly forecasts, and long-term planning. Furthermore, this position will assist with the creation, management and updating of long-term financial planning models for each of the business segments to generate a consolidated Hanwha Energy US Holdings long-term view to allow for stronger strategic planning and cash forecasting. The employee may be required to perform other job-related duties as requested by management. All duties will be assigned in accordance with applicable laws and company policies.
This role is located in Houston Texas, and the ideal candidate will be within commutable distance to the Houston office location. This is an onsite required role.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Support the Annual and Mid-to-Long-Term Business Plan Development and Planning for utility scale of Generation + Retail, as well as new energy business.
- Participate as a key role in the budgeting, forecasting, and long-term planning for consolidated HEUH Americas.
- Support all Chariot Energy stakeholder teams by conducting financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting and management reporting.
- Demonstrate proficiency in management reporting and variance analysis, including the ability to identify and explain variances between actual and budgeted / forecasted figures, detecting trends, anomalies, and areas for improvement.
- Create &/or assist with the construction of long-term operational and financial models for strategic planning scenarios and cash forecasting.
- Continue to improve processes and create efficiencies to consolidate reporting to Executive Management and HQ that may be currently performed by different business segments.
- Be able to effectively communicate across multiple departments such as commercial, operations, accounting, etc.
- Work with confidential data, which, if disclosed, might have a significant internal effect or minor external effect.
- Ensure compliance with the financial procedures of the organization.
- Work at an expert level in MS Excel, having advanced knowledge of Excel formulas and functions for reporting and model building.
- Have a working knowledge of PowerPoint/Word for internal and external management reporting.
- Partner with other departments and help support the annual strategic planning process and execution/implementation plans.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or related field; MBA or Financial Certification is a plus.
- Minimum of 3+ years of experience in Finance, FP&A, or corporate accounting is a plus.
- Budgeting experience and corporate financial modeling
- Bilingual: Fluency in English & Korean language required.
- Strong oral/written skills to be able to communicate complex analytical concepts to the executive team.
- Advanced experience with Microsoft Office Suite Apps: Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Word.
- Strong knowledge of budgeting, cash flow forecasting and long-term financial planning.
- Experience in electricity generation industries or gas – a plus.
- Proactive and willing to be involved in projects outside of comfort level.
- Detail-oriented with excellent analytical and implementation skills; and
- Highly driven, quick thinker and problem-solver; high integrity and a strong personal work ethic.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to clearly articulate ideas and strategies.
- Comfortable working in a fast-moving dynamic environment.
- Eligible to work in the USA for any employer without sponsorship.
