C&I Sales Manager

Hanwha Energy USA has recently embarked to enter the energy retail market in deregulated markets throughout North America. Chariot Energy is a retail energy provider based in Houston, Texas. POSITION OVERVIEW
We are seeking a C&I Sales Manager role who will lead power origination and strategic commercial and industrial (C&I) Sales efforts in Northeastern USA. In this role you will negotiate and transact C&I power and load response and build a pipeline of customers with complex structured energy supply needs. As our C&I Sales Manager, you will play a pivotal role in developing and implementing our C&I Sales strategy to expand our customer base and represent Chariot Energy at client events, conferences and presentations, to create valuable transaction opportunities for the business. You will also generate new customers and negotiate contracts by working in close partnerships with sales, trading and product management. This role will be responsible for C&I sales commercial opportunities and will focus on serving large C&I space as our portfolio continues to grow. Existing experience and relationships required.
This is an onsite position located out of the Chariot Energy Houston office. Remote is an option if you are based within target market range.
RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop and maintain a robust pipeline of prospective large C&I customers seeking complex energy solutions.
- Build rapport and trusted relationships across the energy industry to drive strategic commercial and industrial sales initiatives.
- Lead counterparty negotiations and keep external and internal conversations aligned and moving forward.
- Facilitate responding to bids.
- Develop and maintain commercial and competitive intelligence.
- Coordinate internal processes and resources, collaborating with Supply for competitive feedback and deliver expected results.
- Present, negotiate, and evaluate complex retail product options and recommend an appropriate one meeting customer needs.
- Utilize knowledge of energy offerings and deregulated markets to identify unique selling propositions.
- Lead negotiations with customers and partners, leveraging strong commercial acumen to secure and close deals, while also nurturing and managing key stakeholder relationships.
- Create and implement strategic plans to approach and capture key customers within the market.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
REQUIRED COMPETENCIES

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Minimum of 5 years of C&I sales and deal execution experience in power markets.
- Bachelor's Degree - Business, Economics, Finance or other equivalent. Advanced degree a plus.
- Excellent Commercial skills.
- Proven experience responsible for commercial business development and customer sales growth.
- Strong history of deal closure with complex transactions and structured deals, with large consumers of energy.
- In-depth knowledge of the deregulated wholesale electricity markets, trading in those markets, and the associated infrastructure supporting those markets.
- Demonstrated ability to consistently produce large C&I sales results.
- Proven positive reputation in energy markets that attracts credibility, respect and deal flow.
- Strong track record of innovation, creativity and success in managing and or closing customer business.
- Experience in addressing new sources of load growth in Northeastern USA markets.
- Proven track record in strategic planning and execution, identifying and seizing market opportunities.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, effectively conveying complex concepts to diverse audiences.
- Strong knowledge of structured products (options; Power Purchase Agreements (PPAs; load following) for wholesale markets.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, working effectively with internal teams to align business strategies and ensure transaction success.
