Hanwha Energy USA has set out to have Chariot Energy become one of the leading energy retail providers (by RCE count) within 5-years of Chariot Energy’s launch.

 

POSITION OVERVIEW

We are looking for an experienced Retail Operations Analyst to join our team in the role of Sr Operations Analyst. The ideal candidate should possess independence, purposefulness, and a proactive approach, and should be eager to contribute to a dynamic organization. Working collaboratively within the team setting, this individual will formulate strategies for overseeing and implementing day-to-day workflow activities, as well as managing medium to complex exception handling tasks while adhering to service level agreements. Analyst I will specialize in the assigned business function areas, becoming a subject matter expert. Collaboration with team members, project groups, Information Technology, and cross-functional teams is a crucial aspect of this role to support evolving business requirements. Preference will be given to candidates with experience in the deregulated retail electricity sector, particularly with a strong emphasis on analytics.

This role will be located in Houston, Texas, and the ideal candidate will be within commutable distance to the Houston office location. This is an onsite required role.

 

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Apply sound judgment and analytical skills, collaborating with subject matter experts when required, to investigate discrepancies in work processes. Take appropriate actions to address and resolve issues, collaborating with other functional teams as necessary.
  • Develop and implement controls/reporting often starting with a non-standard and manual pilot; then upon commensurate success, developing and implementing into an automated documented process.
  • Coordinate and work directly with cross functional teams to analyze and adjust processes and functionality to ensure accuracy and efficiency.
  • Establish controls to bridge identified gaps across business units.
  • Assist in gathering requirements and QA testing for new development on projects designed to improve billing, customer experience and reporting.
  • Conduct ad hoc analysis as required to support data-driven decision-making.
  • Manage and adhere to compliance protocols as outlined by the Public Utility Commissions.
  • Assist with project planning, testing and implementation of automated processes to support data and analysis.
  • Adhere to Retail Market Guide protocols as set forth by ERCOT.
  • Take the lead when changes and proposed regulations occur to understand potential gaps to current processes and formulate solutions to comply.
  • Achieve excellence by delivering on key performance indicators (KPI’s).
  • Provide cross-function support to peers and departments to develop best in class end-to-end delivery processes.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • 5+ years’ working experience in Retail Operations in multiple energy markets across ERCOT, NYISO and PJM.
  • Experience in retail energy market required.
  • Capable of acquiring and scrutinizing data with minimal supervision, able to analyze scenarios and recommend a course of action or remediation.
  • Advanced proficiency with Excel and other MS Office Suite
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Accounting, or related field, or 5 years of directly related relevant experience in Retail Operations in lieu of a degree.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Detail-oriented, strong organizational skills, and ability to prioritize responsibilities to meet critical deadlines with a high degree of accuracy.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal oversight.
  • Exceptional analytical, problem-solving, and critical thinking skills.
  • Ability to interface and effectively communicate with various internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to multi-task and function in a highly dynamic atmosphere.
  • Proficiency with MS Office Suite; Advanced Excel (VBA/Access/SQL a bonus but not required) 
  • Eligible to work for any US employer without the need for any current or future sponsorship.

 

COMPENSATION: $80,000 - $115,000 salary
