About the Role
CharterUP is seeking a dynamic Inside Sales Team Manager to lead and elevate our Marketplace Sales team. In this high-impact role, you will balance strategic leadership with hands-on engagement, acting as a player-coach to drive team performance and foster a culture of excellence. With a focus on continuous improvement, you will leverage data-driven strategies, cutting-edge technology—including AI tools—and personalized mentorship to achieve ambitious sales targets while delivering exceptional customer experiences.

Responsibilities
Team Leadership & Coaching
- Lead, mentor, and inspire a team of Inside Sales Representatives (ISRs) to achieve and exceed performance metrics, including gross revenue, quote conversion rates, and customer satisfaction.
- Act as a hands-on player-coach, stepping in to guide complex sales situations and provide real-time feedback to team members.
- Foster a collaborative, high-performance culture grounded in accountability, continuous improvement, and customer focus.
Performance Management
- Monitor, analyze, and act on team and individual performance metrics to identify trends, address gaps, and implement strategies for growth.
- Develop and deliver advanced training programs to refine sales techniques, strengthen objection handling, and deepen product expertise.
- Conduct regular one-on-one sessions and team meetings to set goals, review progress, and provide actionable feedback.
Operational Excellence
- Collaborate with senior leadership to establish team goals that align with broader organizational objectives.
- Streamline sales workflows to ensure optimal handling of inbound and outbound leads, voicemails, texts, and emails, maximizing productivity and response times.
- Leverage CharterUP’s proprietary marketplace technology and emerging AI tools to drive efficiency and elevate the customer experience.
Customer Engagement
- Empower the team to build and maintain strong, long-term client relationships, emphasizing repeat business and retention.
- Ensure a customer-first approach by deeply understanding client needs and tailoring solutions to exceed expectations.
Experience and Expertise
Leadership & Sales Skills
- 5+ years of experience in sales, with at least 3+ years in a management or team lead role.
- Must have led teams of at least 10+ in prior roles, preferably in a remote environment.
- Proven track record of achieving and exceeding sales targets, both as an individual contributor and as a team leader.
- Expertise in coaching and developing high-performing sales teams, with a focus on measurable growth and continuous improvement.
Data-Driven Mindset
- Demonstrated ability to pull/manipulate spreadsheet data to identify trends and inform decision-making. Experience with Google Sheets or MS Excel required.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to use data to inform decision-making, track performance, and implement process improvements.
- Experience managing sales metrics such as quotas, conversion rates, and forecasting, with a focus on balancing short-term results with long-term growth.
Communication & Collaboration
- Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills, capable of inspiring trust and credibility with clients, team members, and leadership.
- Skilled at managing complex sales scenarios and fostering relationships with diverse internal and external stakeholders.
Additional Qualifications
- Experience in a high-velocity, phone-based sales environment preferred.
- Ability to thrive in a remote work environment, managing distributed teams effectively.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, sales software, and proprietary marketplace technology is a plus.
- High school diploma or equivalent required; additional education in sales, business, or management is a plus.
