The Sales Operations Specialist – Compensation Design and Analytics is integral in designing and analyzing our sales compensation plans. This role requires you to leverage data-driven insights to craft strategies that motivate and reward our sales force effectively, aligning with organizational goals and market trends.
Key Responsibilities:
- Compensation Plan Design: Lead the design and refinement of sales compensation plans that drive sales performance and align with business objectives. Collaborate with sales leaders to ensure plans are motivating and equitable.
- Data-Driven Insights: Conduct in-depth analyses of sales performance metrics to influence compensation plan strategy. Utilize data to provide insights on plan effectiveness and recommend adjustments as needed.
- Financial Modeling: Develop financial models to forecast and assess the impact of various compensation strategies on sales performance and company financials.
- Market Analysis: Stay informed on industry trends and conduct competitive analyses to ensure our compensation offerings remain attractive and competitive in the marketplace.
- Collaboration: Work closely with cross-functional teams including Sales Leadership, HR, and Finance to ensure compensation strategies are aligned and effectively communicated.
- Compensation Analytics & Reporting: Design robust reporting frameworks to track the success of compensation plans. Present findings and recommendations to senior management.
- Compliance & Governance: Ensure compensation plans comply with relevant legal and regulatory requirements. Establish governance processes to maintain plan integrity and transparency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or a related field.
- 3-5 years of experience in sales operations, compensation design, or similar roles.
- Strong analytical skills with expertise in data analysis and statistical modeling.
- Proficiency in spreadsheet software (e.g., Microsoft Excel) and analytics tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
- Experience with sales performance management or compensation software (e.g., Xactly, Varicent) is a plus.
- Excellent strategic thinking and problem-solving capabilities.
- Effective communication skills with the ability to present complex information clearly.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Experience in designing complex compensation plans.
- Familiarity with CRM systems, preferably Salesforce.
- Advanced financial analysis and modeling capabilities.
- Project management skills or certification.

We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop ranges for our roles and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. If this role is remote, we have listed the top to the bottom of the possible range, but we will specify the target range for an exact location when you are selected for a recruiting discussion. The base salary range for this role is $150,766 to $177,372 in San Francisco, CA.
