About the team/role

Join our innovative Financial Planning & Strategy (FP&S) team to help execute financial strategies to support the company's growth objectives. We partner with business teams to inform and guide strategic decision making across Checkr. This role would be involved in supporting strategic projects to formulate, evaluate, and steer new investment opportunities, such as performing market research, supporting M&A activities, and creating internal executive reporting. This role is entrepreneurial and cross-functional and, as such, the candidate must be inquisitive, demonstrate initiative and be able to thrive in a fast paced environment. The right candidate will possess strong analytical and communication skills to influence data-driven business decisions. Comfort influencing and interacting at all levels of senior management (including VP, SVP and C-Suite) is a must.

What you’ll do

  • Perform market research to help identify new investment trends and opportunities and own company's competitive intelligence
  • Help execute financial strategies to support growth objectives, including strategic and financial planning, and budgeting
  • Support on potential M&A and other strategic transactions, including sourcing, evaluation, negotiation, execution and integration
  • Create internal executive reporting including financial reporting, investor reporting and other management presentations
  • Partner with cross-functional teams to develop strategic initiatives that drive revenue growth, cost optimization, and operational efficiency, such as research for AI uses cases internally

What you bring

  • 6+ years of relevant progressive Finance or Strategy experience in a fast-paced and high growth environment, including investment banking, investing, corporate development, or consulting
  • Attention to detail with a natural feel for numbers and data; able to balance between accuracy and precision in a fast-paced, results-oriented environment
  • Superior analytical and problem solving skills with experience building financial models and explaining financial concepts to non-finance audiences 
  • Demonstrated time management skills and comfort juggling multiple projects/tasks with multiple stakeholders amid deadlines on time sensitive projects
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; Ability to influence and drive engagement with senior level business partners

We use geographic cost of labor as an input to develop ranges for our roles and as such, each location where we hire may have a different range. If this role is remote, we have listed the top to the bottom of the possible range, but we will specify the target range for an exact location when you are selected for a recruiting discussion. The base salary range for this role is $154,000 to $181,000 in San Francisco, CA.
