About the team/role

Join the IT Engineering team as an AI Solutions Engineer, where you'll play a vital role in enhancing employee productivity across all departments at Checkr. In this role, you will leverage cutting-edge AI technologies—including Large Language Models and Retrieval Augmented Generation—to develop and deploy AI-driven solutions that address complex internal challenges. Collaborating closely with a diverse set of internal stakeholders, you'll have the opportunity to shape technological strategies that directly impact our mission to build the safe and fair data platform of the future.  

What you’ll do:  

  • Engage with Internal Teams: Collaborate with internal stakeholders across various departments to understand their workflows, identify pain points, and uncover opportunities where AI can enhance productivity and efficiency.
  • Develop AI Solutions: Design, develop, and deploy bespoke AI solutions tailored to meet the specific needs of internal teams, improving processes and decision-making capabilities.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Work closely with Engineers, Product Designers, and other AI Solutions Engineers to integrate AI technologies into existing systems and workflows.
  • Iterate and Improve: Collect feedback from internal users to iterate on AI solutions, ensuring they continue to meet evolving needs and drive concrete impact within the organization.
  • Training and Enablement: Lead training sessions and workshops to empower internal teams with the knowledge and tools to effectively utilize AI solutions.
  • Strategic Planning: Contribute to the shaping of AI strategies and roadmaps aligned with organizational goals, ensuring that AI initiatives deliver maximum value.
  • Stay Current with AI Trends: Continuously research and stay informed about the latest advancements in AI to incorporate relevant innovations into internal solutions.
  • Communicate Insights: Present findings, progress updates, and future proposals to internal stakeholders, ranging from team members to executive leadership.

What you’ll bring:  

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Data Science, or equivalent experience. A graduate degree is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in engineering roles focused on deploying solutions that enhance productivity. 
  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in developing AI-centric products, including but not limited to machine learning, generative AI, deep learning, and statistical modeling.
  • Robust programming skills in Python and experience with AI frameworks and technologies such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and containerizing solutions with tools like Docker and Kubernetes within cloud environments like AWS and Azure.
  • Proven hands-on expertise and familiarity working with LLMs, RAGs, and open-source frameworks such as Lang Chain and Langflow preferred.
  • Exceptional ability to tackle open-ended problems in unstructured environments, synthesizing complex data into actionable insights.
  • Proven track record of working effectively within cross-functional teams, with strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexible and introspective, a willingness to learn, teach, lead, and follow as situations require.
  • A deep interest in leveraging AI to transform internal processes and enhance employee productivity.

The salary range for this role is $129,000 - $152,000 in Denver, CO.
