About the Role:  

In this role, you must be an exceptional communicator, storyteller, customer advocate and have a solid vision for how to bring products to market. You are at ease in a fast moving and ambiguous environment, and showcase excellent problem solving and communication skills. 

You are responsible for all member engagement communications for Chief’s 10,000+ members - as well as playing a critical role in shaping the prospective member journey in our customer acquisition funnel. 

You will use your market knowledge and analytical mindset to shape the product roadmap, build national and global go-to-market strategies, and organize launches. You will also lead content and collateral creation for sales enablement. You will also own omni-channel adoption with our mobile app and SMS. 

You will lead the go-to-market member strategy and collaborate extensively with our Product, Sales, Member Success, and Marketing Operations teams in messaging, positioning, storytelling, execution, and analysis. 

As owner of several communications efforts aimed at improving member retention and renewal rates, this role leads a team and directs a cross-functional team composed of partners in departments including Acquisition Marketing, Membership Sales, Marketing Operations, Brand Marketing, Member Success, and more. This role reports to the VP of Marketing and works closely with the Member Experience, Product, Programming, DEI, and Community teams.

What You'll Do:  

Product Marketing

  • Own the successful launch and ongoing promotion of new products and features across the Chief product portfolio
  • Develop product positioning and messaging for products and features, considering value proposition, audience needs, market landscape, and other factors 
  • Develop and execute go-to-market strategies and integrated marketing moments, collaborating closely with Product, Membership Sales, Marketing, Creative and other cross-functional teams 
  • Optimize the prospective member sales funnel - including email nurture campaigns, sales collateral, landing pages, crafting compelling stories about Chief membership
  • Drive omni-channel adoption of the mobile app and SMS channels
  • Build deep product & member knowledge leveraging both quantitative and qualitative insights to inform go-to-market strategies and A/B testing to optimize communications and experiences
  • Manage complex projects independently, develop processes to achieve scale, and drive alignment with stakeholders  
  • Directly manage a Marketing Specialist, and provide guidance and direction for a team, including a Copywriter, Graphic Designer, and Campaign Operations Specialist, to execute impactful marketing campaigns.
  • Tackle complex, ambiguous problems with a strategic mindset and create thoughtful recommendations and action plans 
  • Develop ongoing product education plan for owned products and features

Member Marketing

  • Evolve Chief’s Member Communications strategy, developing member campaigns that support emerging needs and business transformation for the organization, while also driving member engagement, awareness, and participation rate.
  • Evaluate data to determine the effectiveness of ongoing members communications, and collaborate with Member Experience and Marketing Operations to optimize lifecycle marketing 
  • Oversee company-wide strategic communications calendar– setting the overall timeline for member-facing communications from cross-functional teams such as Product, Brand, Partnerships, Social Impact, Programming and more. 
  • Partner with senior leadership in Member Experience, PR, Brand, Social Impact to ensure that member-facing collateral and communications leveraged by their teams are consistent with Chief’s internal brand and voice and drive usage of member success offerings.
  • Manage B2C marketing budget, thoughtfully allocating funds toward items and events that support member loyalty and retention.
  • Manage the planning and execution of internal events aimed at sharing large company announcements or changes with members (i.e. town halls and fireside chats), including developing associated content such as presentations and videos.   

What you’ve done and enjoy doing:

  • Product marketing experience, including campaign strategy/development, messaging, segmentation, and AB/multivariate testing
  • Ability to quickly connect product features and benefits with user needs and translate into value props and high-quality deliverables
  • Data-driven strategies to project design, implementation and KPI management through a business impact lens
  • Strategic mindset with strong analytical skills to bring complex and nuanced concepts into simple actionable tasks
  • Ability to balance short-term gains with long-term impact. Ability to foresee the long-term impact of those short-term gains and properly utilize that knowledge to inform the roadmap
  • Fundamental knowledge/understanding of a marketing automation tools such as Braze or Iterable and a track record leveraging those tools to create successful, multi-channel, and multi touch campaigns
  • Proven track record in building collaborative partnerships across multi-disciplinary teams, including product management, design, insights, sales, and brand marketing
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and spoken, with the ability to influence and communicate cross-functionally and at all levels of the organization
  • Deep empathy for the customer (member) experience 
  • Highly organized self-starter, with experience of working on multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced multifaceted environment
  • Strong team management skills with direct and indirect reports and fostering a high-performing team culture

The base salary for this role is: $175,000
