Principal, SEO & Generative AI Search Strategy
About the Role
Chime is looking for a Principal, Generative AI Search Strategy & SEO to lead the next chapter of our search strategy. This role blends technical SEO expertise, content-led growth strategy, and a strong understanding of how LLMs are reshaping organic search.
As a principal individual contributor, you will define and scale Chime’s organic growth strategy across both traditional search engines and AI-powered search. You will work cross-functionally with product, engineering, content, and data science to deliver high-impact growth. This is a highly visible role for someone who wants to shape how millions discover and engage with Chime.
The base salary offered for this role and level of experience will begin at $146,610 and up to $207,700. Full-time employees are also eligible for a bonus, competitive equity package, and benefits. The actual base salary offered may be higher, depending on your location, skills, qualifications, and experience.
In this role, you can expect to
- Own and evolve Chime’s SEO and Generative AI Search strategy, balancing immediate growth with future-forward innovation.
- Lead the technical SEO roadmap including site audits, structured data, Core Web Vitals, and scalable site architecture improvements.
- Own AI-powered workflows to make ongoing content optimizations and experiment with discoverability tactics for next-gen search platforms (e.g., Gemini, ChatGPT).
- Partner with content, product, brand, engineering, and analytics teams to build and execute scalable strategies to drive organic visibility.
- Monitor performance, analyze competitors, and identify organic growth opportunities across traditional and AI-driven channels.
- Define KPIs, implement governance, and create scalable frameworks that support SEO across teams and partners.
- Stay ahead of evolving SEO and AI-powered search trends to inform strategy and innovation.
To thrive in this role, you have
- 8+ years of experience in SEO and organic growth at high-growth B2C, fintech, marketplace, or content-heavy companies.
- Deep technical SEO knowledge across web performance, indexing, schema, and scalable frameworks.
- Led successful partnerships with content, web, engineering, and digital PR teams.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency using GA4, Looker, GSC, and experimentation tools.
- Deep understanding of the evolving landscape of AI search and curiosity about LLM discoverability.
- Ability to communicate clearly and lead through influence with cross-functional teams.
