What You Will Do

As the Analyst, Transportation, your primary responsibility will be to own the auditing, analytics, booking, and documentation of inter and intracompany transportation. You will do this by fielding internal requests for freight movement and booking these loads via the most cost and time-effective modes through our freight brokers' portals and our transportation management system. You will collaborate extensively, cross-functionally throughout the organization. You will be a game changer by supporting functional excellence and enhancing the speed and accuracy of Chomp’s logistics reporting and drawing key insights that lead to making strategic business decisions. 

Responsibilities

  • Create, Book, and Track Shipments (50-60%) 
    • Create loads and manage freight bookings: handle LTL/TL bookings for both intercompany and intracompany shipments. Ensure contracted lanes are utilized, and coordinate with the Logistics Team on awarding spot lanes.
    • Keep freight data in Netsuite and TMS (Shipwell) organized, ensuring ship dates, freight details, and costs are accurate and up to date.
    • Track, monitor shipments, and follow up with 3PL providers to ensure freight is ready for planned ship dates to minimize dwell times.  
    • Communicate shipment status’ to the team: Utilize carrier portals, and TMS to escalate late pickups and deliveries. Monitor internal freight movements to ensure timely deliveries that meet production requirements at expected cost. 
  • Network/Shipment Optimization (20%) 
    • Plan loads: review and recommend opportunities for consolidation and changes to modes of transportation.
    • Monitor order due dates against expected transit times to drive OTS%/OTD% for customer orders. 
  • Finance (10-15%) 
    • Assist with monthly logistics cost analysis, provide data from shipping portals, and actual freight spend detail.
    • Monitor and award spot bids, as well as report on trends to ensure loads are booked at competitive rates.
    • Support the Accounting/AR function to ensure financial accuracy, including reviewing invoices and auditing accessorials like TONU, detention, and FSC charges.
    • Provide support for freight RFPs. 
  • Escalations (10-15%) 
    • Identify and reconcile issues as they arise, assist with dispositioning O/S/D, rejections, returns.
    • Support Logistics leadership and the overall team in shipment escalations, freight market insights.  

Who You Are

  • Experience working in ERP, TMS, and WMS Systems. Netsuite experience preferred.
  • 1 – 2 years experience in either Transportation, Supply Chain/Logistics. CPG industry preferred.  
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel and/or Google Sheets
  • Outstanding time management and organizational skills, with significant attention to detail.
  • Outstanding communication (verbal and written) with relationship management.

Type: Full-Time, exempt

Salary Range Opportunity:

  • The salary range for this role is $65,000 - $70,000 + 10% annual bonus

  • Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company
