What You Will Do
We are looking for a dynamic, collaborative and passionate person to join the team as our Senior Director of Manufacturing (Base). Your primary responsibility will be to oversee the management of our third-party (3P) manufacturing, kitting and slacking partners and work with them to plan capacity, ensure material availability, and produce consistent product to defined standards. You are ultimately responsible for quality, efficiency and on-time delivery of all Chomps products. You will collaborate with leadership, internal functions, and manage key 3P stakeholders. As leader of Base Manufacturing, you will be responsible for leadership and execution with your team for all existing third-party facilities. You will be a game changer by driving manufacturing excellence and implementing your recommendations to achieve continuous quality, process, throughput, and cost structure improvements.
Responsibilities
- Manufacturing Operations: Managing production processes across slacking, co-manufacturing and kitting network to ensure quality, efficiency, contract adherence and alignment with company mission and objectives.
- KPI review and management with internal team and external teams.
- Manage QBRs with external partners to ensure appropriate performance management and partnership is achieved.
- Quality assurance: Collaborating with FSQA and R&D leaders to implement and enforce quality control measures to consistently meet Chomps’ standards and comply with regulatory requirements across the network.
- Strategic planning: Collaborate on contract extension and amendments with existing co-manufacturing partners.
- Team leadership: Leading and developing manufacturing teams to achieve Chomps’ mission and objectives, including but not limited to; people and organization planning, people and management development, performance evaluations and developing a culture of high performance, collaboration and continuous improvement.
- Supply chain coordination: Collaborating with cross functional teams including Procurement, Planning, Logistics, and Inventory Control to optimize inventory management, customer service and costs.
- Partner with Finance team on budget development and execution across all third-party sites, as well as Productivity (Cost Savings) team to drive cost savings initiative in your functional area to reduce efficiencies and improve profitability.
- Partner with Sr. Director of Manufacturing (Growth) to effectively hand-off all new facility and line start-ups from Growth team to Base team after steady-state is reached.
Who You Are
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, supply chain operations or related field
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in manufacturing operations, including 3P management and continuous improvement practices (LSS or Lean Manufacturing)
- Minimum of 5 years leading, developing and managing salaried direct reports
- Ability to travel 1-2 times per month to various 3P manufacturing locations
- Prior industry experience in food manufacturing required; USDA and meat experience preferred
- Experience with meat processing, oven and thermoforming packaging equipment preferred
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (with emphasis in Excel), ERP (cloud based is a plus), and MES
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and continuous improvement skills with demonstrated success in driving results through influential leadership and lean manufacturing tools
- Outstanding communication (both verbal and written) and relationship management skills
- Excellent interpersonal, negotiation and conflict resolution skills
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail

Salary Range Opportunity:
- The salary range for this role is $190,000 - $200,000 plus 25% bonus
Compensation Philosophy & Total Comp:
- Our salary ranges are based on verified market data and our philosophy of paying competitively for our size and industry
- Individual pay rate decisions are based on several factors, including qualifications for the role, experience level, skillset, and balancing internal equity relative to peers at the company
