Within Chowbus, the Business Intelligence (BI) organization combines a deep understanding of business strategy and performance with analytical and technical expertise to deliver insights and drive data-driven decision-making across the company. This team is responsible for identifying key focus areas and rapidly improving the quality of decision-making in those areas.

Within the BI organization, the Business Intelligence Analyst role is designed for structured thinkers with the technical ability to interpret data and the communication skills to translate insights into actionable strategies for business leaders. These analysts are curious self-starters who understand the business and leverage SQL, Python, and other tools to conduct data-driven analyses that drive growth and efficiency.

What You'll Focus On:

  1. Data Analysis & Business Insights 35%
  • Analyze key business metrics (e.g., Gross Processing Volume (GPV), revenue trends, customer acquisition, retention, and profitability).
  • Conduct deep-dive analysis on restaurant performance, customer behavior, and sales trends to uncover growth opportunities.
  • Develop data models and dashboards to track business performance and present findings to leadership.
  1. Cross-functional Collaboration 20%
  • Partner with Finance, Operations, Product, and Sales teams to provide actionable insights that drive strategic decisions.
  • Work closely with engineering and data teams to improve data accuracy, reporting automation, and system integrations.
  • Support pricing strategies, customer segmentation, and market expansion analysis for business growth.

    3. Process Optimization & Strategy 15%
    Identify inefficiencies in restaurant onboarding, subscription billing, and operational workflows and recommend improvements.
    Monitor customer lifecycle metrics and suggest retention and upsell strategies.
    Assist in forecasting, budgeting, and variance analysis to support financial planning.

    4. Reporting & Visualization 30%
    Build and maintain interactive dashboards in Tableau, SQL, or other BI tools for real-time monitoring.
    Deliver monthly and quarterly reports summarizing business performance and trends.
    Translate complex data into clear, concise insights for stakeholders.

What You Bring:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business Intelligence, or related field required; master’s degree is a plus.
  • 3+ years of experience in business analysis, data analytics, or strategy roles, preferably in a SaaS, tech-driven company or in risk management.
  • Strong proficiency in SQL, Tableau, and Excel (experience with Python or R is a plus).
  • Deep understanding of SaaS metrics, payment processing, and subscription revenue models is preferred.
  • Experience working with large datasets, data visualization, and statistical analysis.
  • Experience in technology, fintech, or e-commerce analytics is a plus.
  • Bilingual in Mandarin is preferred.

  • Flexibility and adaptability are key, as the role may involve adjusting to different time zones and work settings.
