Prison Ministry Coordinator

JOB SUMMARY:

The Prison Ministry Coordinator at Christ Fellowship Church requires a unique combination of spiritual leadership, empathy, and practical skills to establish a solid foundation for the ministry, supporting pastors, volunteers, and correctional facilities. The candidate must have a sincere concern for others since they will mentor volunteers and inmates, in addition to arranging discipleship classes and weekly services for inmates. Working in correctional settings can be demanding; therefore, it is essential to be patient, resilient, and capable of sustaining hope and positivity even in challenging situations.

JOB DUTIES:

  • Oversight of Groups at all our prison and jail locations, providing leadership and all necessary ministry supplies.
  • Visiting each facility to uphold standards of excellence.
  • Provide leadership to coaches and volunteers by equipping, empowering, and entrusting the saints for the work of ministry. Ensuring volunteers align with our mission, vision, and values.
  • Continue to build an Administrative Team that assists in managing the ministry's administrative load.
  • Coordinating the processes of the Florida Department of Corrections Volunteer training and background checks, as well as onboarding volunteers through our CF Dream Team onboarding process.
  • Working with the Prison Ministry Team and institutions to create more opportunities that enhance services for inmates and staff at our correctional institutions.
  • Administer and coordinate logistical support, encompassing communication, data entry, paperwork processing for prison/jail event applications and donation form.
  • Overseeing and managing the Prison Ministry budget while serving as the Budget Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the team (e.g., Concur, Anybill, and product requests).
  • Prison Event management (Angel Tree, Friendsgiving, Corrections Week, Filming events inside the prison, etc.), hospitality, and volunteer team-building initiatives.
  • Manage and maintain Christ Fellowship's online presence in prisons nationwide through the Pando App. 
  • Attending weekly Christ Fellowship staff meetings and Prison Ministry department meetings, as required. 

EDUCATION:

Bachelor’s Degree preferred 

RELEVANT WORK EXPERIENCE:

  • 1-3 years of relevant ministry experience.
  • Experience in building and leading teams or volunteers, which includes recruiting, training, and mentoring. 
  • Experience in leading events and coordinating.
  • Working knowledge of managing budgets.
  • Working knowledge of data collection and reporting.

JOB SPECS:

Classification: Full-Time, Salary (Exempt) | including some weekends and weeknights.

Reporting to: Prison Ministry Pastor
