QA Engineer - Contract

Our QA team is talented, inquisitive, and fearless - constantly pushing each other to be great. We're looking for a Contract QA Engineer who will integrate deeply with our team and be responsible for addressing mobile/web application challenges and changes that might prevent accurate functionality of our user applications. What we build defines who we are, and you'll play a critical role in ensuring we get the details right every time.

What you'll do:

  • Deliver quality through a combination of manual and automated testing.
  • Create, maintain, and execute test cases defined in the Test Management Platform (TestRail).
  • Define pre-conditions and create test data needed for test case execution.
  • Isolate the signal from the noise through methodical troubleshooting and root cause analysis.
  • Think out-of-the-box and find creative ways to solve a variety of testing challenges.
  • Log high-quality bugs tickets into JIRA.
  • Identify and validate across browsers, operating systems, and devices.
  • Manage builds & releases on projects from start to finish.
  • Leverage 3rd party tools and custom scripts as needed to support testing.
  • Create & manage release notes and report test results.
  • Periodically monitor application health using reporting dashboards and tools.
  • Proactively provide feedback on product usability and recommendations to improve overall quality.
  • Assist in supporting the customer by assisting helpdesk support with investigations and ticket triage.

What you need to succeed:

  • 4+ years of software QA experience testing web and/or mobile applications
  • Strong experience creating, maintaining, and executing test cases, including functional, regression, exploratory, and end-to-end testing
  • Experience with SQL, preferably PostgreSQL, including writing queries to validate data, troubleshoot issues, and support application testing
  • Experience identifying, documenting, tracking, and retesting defects, with clear reproduction steps and supporting evidence
  • Experience with TestRail and JIRA, or comparable test management and issue-tracking tools
  • Experience with web and mobile test automation, preferably Playwright/JavaScript and Appium/AltTester
  • Experience testing across browsers, mobile devices, operating systems, and screen sizes, including platforms such as BrowserStack
  • Ability to troubleshoot test failures and differentiate between application, automation, environment, and test-data issues
  • Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and ability to clearly communicate defects, test results, risks, and release readiness
  • Ability to collaborate with Product, Design, Development, and QA to clarify requirements, identify edge cases, and ensure adequate test coverage
  • Familiarity with CI/CD and source control, preferably GitHub and GitHub Actions
  • Familiarity with testing for ADA is a plus
