About the role
Circle is looking for a hands-on PR Consultant to help execute and grow our media and thought leadership efforts.
Working closely with our Head of Partnerships & Creator Growth, you'll help turn priorities into action—researching opportunities, building relationships, pitching stories, coordinating appearances, and keeping our PR program moving. This is an execution-focused role for someone who is proactive, resourceful, and knows how to create momentum.
While our overall communications strategy is set internally, we're looking for someone who can spot opportunities, make valuable media connections, and help our leaders get in front of the audiences that matter most.
Please note, we are hiring this role as a part-time (approximately 15-20 hours/week), independent contractor opportunity to start. Because this is a contract position, it is not eligible for the benefits provided to full-time employees.
What you'll do
- Research and maintain target lists across podcasts, newsletters, creator channels, industry publications, and media outlets.
- Work with internal stakeholders to identify stories, product updates, customer wins, and trends that are worth pitching.
- Identify timely media, speaking, and partnership opportunities that align with our business and audience.
- Draft, coordinate, and manage outreach to podcast hosts, editors, journalists, newsletter writers, and creators.
- Help secure podcast appearances, interviews, newsletter features, guest contributions, and other earned media opportunities.
- Coordinate scheduling, briefing materials, and logistics for media appearances.
- Use AI tools to streamline research, drafting, monitoring, and workflow management.
- Maintain a lightweight PR pipeline and provide regular updates on activity, results, and emerging opportunities.
What we're looking for
- 5+ years of experience in PR, media relations, or communications, ideally in SaaS, technology, or the creator economy.
- Strong familiarity with creator-economy media, including podcasts, newsletters, industry publications, and online communities.
- Experience pitching media and helping secure earned coverage or speaking opportunities.
- Confident building relationships with journalists, podcast hosts, creators, and other industry contacts—even if you don't already know everyone.
- Highly organized and able to manage multiple outreach efforts and follow-ups simultaneously.
- Strong written communication and pitching skills.
- Comfortable using AI tools to improve research, writing, and productivity.
- Self-directed, proactive, and comfortable working in a fast-moving remote environment.
