An Administrative Assistant job is available with the City of Fort Worth’s Property Management Department which consists of four divisions including Facilities Management, Fleet Services, Real Estate and General Services. PMD is a large, fast paced, and rewarding department that is responsible for a wide array of services including: maintenance of the majority of City facilities, maintaining the City’s fleet, land and property acquisitions including right-of-way and easement acquisitions. The Department is seeking to fill the Administrative Assistant position to provide direct support to the General Services and Real Estate Divisions which will require the person to communicate with third-party agencies and respond to internal and external customers by answering inquiries, resolving complaints or directing customers to the appropriate department or personnel. This position will also perform a wide variety of routine fiscal, administrative, technical and human resource management tasks to support the daily operations of the Real Estate and General Services divisions, as well as perform a wide variety of clerical tasks for other staff and management.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college with major course work in Business Management, Public Administration, Business Administration or related field, and
- Four (4) years of clerical and administrative experience
Preferred Qualifications:
- Must possess the ability to demonstrate customer focus, teamwork and be adaptable to a diverse, rapidly changing and fast paced work environment;
- Must possess the ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing;
- Be a self-starter, able to take initiative over work tasks, highly organized, detail oriented;
- Bilingual/Spanish preferred.
The Administrative Assistant job responsibilities include:
- Monitoring, analyzing and reporting on budgets, projects and program statistics;
- Evaluating, reviewing and processing customer applications and documents such as developer easements and easement dedications by separate instrument;
- Assisting in the sale of property, maintaining records and application data;
- Reviewing and auditing documents related to the purchase and sale of land and property to ensure adherence to rules and regulations;
- Processing quotes, requisitions, purchase orders, payment requests and invoices for the purchase of goods and services;
- Receiving, reviewing and completing public information requests for information
- Reviewing payroll and assisting the department as a human resource coordinator and medical records coordinator

Sedentary Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
