A Business Process Analyst I job is available with the City of Fort Worth Fire Department.
This position provides first-line technical assistance to end users across the organization. This role combines Tier 1 desktop support, Tier 1 help desk duties, IT asset tracking, and cellular/SIM data plan management. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, eager to learn, and able to provide excellent customer service while troubleshooting technology issues.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Business Administration, Public Administration, or related field.
- Valid driver’s license
Preferred Qualifications:
- Technical work experience in computer desktop support
- Experience in computer asset tracking, hardware inventory management, and hardware replacement projects
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Information Systems, Computer Science, or related field
The Business Process Analyst I job responsibilities include:
- Respond to incoming service requests via phone, email, and ticketing system.
- Provide basic troubleshooting and resolution for hardware, software, network, and peripheral issues.
- Escalate complex issues to other teams as needed.
- Set up, configure, and deploy workstations, laptops, mobile devices, and standard applications.
- Assist with user account creation, password resets, and access management following security protocols.
- Travel to multiple locations (e.g., fire stations) across the city to deliver on-site support, equipment setup, troubleshooting, and training as required.
- Maintain an accurate inventory of IT hardware and software assets.
- Track lifecycle of devices (procurement, deployment, maintenance, decommissioning).
- Update asset management system with new acquisitions and disposals.
- Monitor and record company-issued SIM cards and cellular data plans.
- Assist in activating, suspending, or terminating plans as required.
- Track usage and report on cost trends to management.
- Report current device counts to the IT department.
- Contact users to ascertain hardware device requirements and special software needs.
- Assist the IT department in locating devices and users and in scheduling hardware replacements.
Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) Background Check
Applicants for this position must pass a Criminal Justice Information Systems (CJIS) fingerprint-based background check and maintain CJIS eligibility. Due to CJIS requirements related to system access, the following will result in being disqualified for this position: Felony Convictions, Felony Deferred Adjudication, Class A Misdemeanor Conviction, Class B Misdemeanor Convictions in the last 10 years, Class A Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication, Class B Misdemeanor Deferred Adjudication in the last 10 years, an Open Arrest for Any Criminal Offense (Felony or Misdemeanor), and ALL Family Violence Convictions regardless of class.

Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically require touching, talking, hearing, seeing, grasping, standing, walking and repetitive motions.
Sedentary Work – Depending on assignment, positions in this class typically exert up to 10 pounds of force occasionally, a negligible amount of force frequently, and/or constantly having to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects. Sedentary work involves sitting most of the time. Jobs are sedentary if walking and standing are required only occasionally and all other sedentary criteria are met.
