Senior Contracts Manager/Contracts Manager

Summary:

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Senior Contracts Manager/Contracts Manager who will work under the supervision of the SVP of Legal & IP, working across functions and teams as a trusted partner to proactively facilitate the efficient tracking, drafting, negotiation, and execution of contracts. The ideal candidate will have superior organizational and prioritization skills, and a high level of attention to detail. Please note this is an on-site opportunity.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide comprehensive contract lifecycle management from contract request to signature and repository.
  • Draft (via template agreements), review, negotiate, and track a high volume and wide range of agreements, including master service, statements of work, clinical research organization, confidentiality, sponsored research, and material transfer agreements.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with internal and external counsel.
  • Coordinate and liaise with internal stakeholders, outside counsel, and counterparties to ensure timely preparation, review, negotiation, execution, and management of contracts.
  • Facilitate internal contract approval and execution.
  • Develop and update template agreements.
  • Establish a contracting SOP and implement a contract tracking database.
  • Lead initiatives to create, improve, and maintain contract policies, procedures and processes.
  • Assists SVP of legal with legal issues on projects involving cross functional legal matters.
  • Assist with patent filings, docketing, and tracking City’s patent portfolio.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s Degree and/or relevant legal education
  • Minimum of 4 years’ experience tracking, reviewing, and negotiating contracts with substantial experience in pharmaceutical or biotechnology industry
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to interact effectively with internal teams, external vendors, and legal counsel
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a collaborative, fast-paced team environment
