
Sr. Principal Scientist/Associate Director, Antibody Biologist
Position Summary:
Our Extrahepatic Delivery Team is seeking an experienced and passionate Antibody Biologist with a proven track record in antibody engineering, particularly in the oligonucleotide delivery field.
In this role, you will collaborate closely with the chemistry team to establish and advance our antibody engineering and production capabilities. The successful candidate will design and execute antibody engineering strategies, oversee CRO collaborations, and interpret experimental data to drive key program decisions.
Key Responsibilities:
- Engineer and optimize antibody formats (e.g., VHH, Fab, Fc) to support extrahepatic delivery programs.
- Design and perform studies related to antibody characterization and functional evaluation.
- Partner with chemistry colleagues to develop and characterize antibody–oligonucleotide conjugates.
- Manage external CRO collaborations to ensure high-quality materials and timely deliverables.
- Analyze and interpret complex data sets to guide project strategy.
- Responsible for following the field, surveying the landscape and helping with shaping the strategy.
- Communicate findings effectively across multidisciplinary teams.
Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Molecular Biology, Biochemistry, Immunology, or a related field, with 8+ years of relevant postdoctoral or industry experience.
- Strong expertise in antibody engineering (VHH, Fab, or Fc domain engineering required).
- Experience with antibody–oligonucleotide conjugates highly preferred.
- Demonstrated ability to independently design and execute experimental studies.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, cross-functional environment.
- Please note this role is required to be on-site at our offices in Cambridge, MA (5 days a week).
Compensation: The base salary range provided reflects our current estimate of what we anticipate paying for this position. Your actual base salary will be based on several factors, including relevant skills, experience, internal equity, relevant education or training and market dynamics. In addition, this role is eligible for an annual cash bonus and equity compensation. City Therapeutics offers a comprehensive and competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, health and dependent care FSA accounts, HSA/HRA accounts with company contributions, in addition to a 401(k) with competitive company match. Per Year Salary Range: $173,000-$196,000
