CityVet is looking for Pet Groomers to join our team!
The Groomer is responsible for maintaining the animal’s physical appearance by meeting the expectations and requests communicated by the client. It is the Groomer’s responsibility to establish and cultivate lasting client relationships by providing high-quality grooming services such as bathing, bathing supervision, nail trims, ear cleanings, anal gland expression and haircuts.
A day in the life:
- Manage the grooming schedule to efficiently coordinate the demand of the client’s needs with the availability of the grooming staff, leading to an average completion of 10-12 grooms per day (w/bathing assistance) OR 6 grooms a day (w/o bathing assistance).
- Perform thorough client communication when establishing and maintaining electronic records, including client preferences or instructions for grooming, animal’s habits and sensitivities, and any other personal preferences or requests from the client.
- Properly train, supervise and develop all bathing team members on proper bathing policies and work to develop their skills in a positive manner on an ongoing basis.
Essential qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age at the time of hire
- Understanding and ability to properly and safely restrain animals
- A minimum of 1+ years of experience as a Groomer, Groomers Apprentice or has received formal instruction from a reputable grooming program is required
This is an hourly position that transitions to commission on or before one year of employment, based on business needs.
