CityVet Lower South End is growing, and we’re looking for an experienced Veterinary Technician or Assistant who is confident in their skills, takes initiative, and wants to be an important part of a collaborative hospital team. We’re looking for someone who can jump into the flow of the day, anticipate what’s needed, support their teammates, and provide exceptional care to every patient and client.

What We’re Looking For

  • Minimum 2 years veterinary technician/assistant experience required

  • Strong technical skills and confidence working independently within your scope

  • Experience with venipuncture, IV catheter placement, radiology, anesthesia monitoring, and laboratory procedures

  • FearFree modeled patient-handling and restraint skills

  • Strong communication and client-service skills

  • Ability to prioritize and stay organized in a busy environment

  • Dependable, proactive, and willing to jump in where needed

  • A team-first attitude and willingness to give and receive feedback

  • Someone who genuinely cares about the quality of their work and the experience we provide

  • Lift 50 lbs to waist height

What You’ll Do

  • Assist veterinarian with appointments, treatments, diagnostics, and procedures

  • Perform venipuncture and place IV catheters

  • Obtain diagnostic radiographs

  • Prepare and process lab samples

  • Monitor patients under anesthesia and throughout recovery

  • Assist with surgical preparation and procedures

  • Administer medications and treatments as directed by the veterinarian

  • Provide safe, compassionate patient restraint and handling

  • Educate clients and clearly communicate treatment plans and home-care instructions

  • Help maintain efficient patient and appointment flow throughout the day

  • Keep treatment areas organized, stocked, and ready for patient care

  • Work closely with the entire team to create a positive client and patient experience
